(NOTE: this is for Environmental Tech for 1.12.2, version 2.0.6a)

Just to add to the very helpful info @Pjc21 has provided:

The Structure Frame blocks currently work quite differently to how they did previously. There are now a series of minerals which are required to create the 6 tiers of blocks. These currently do not have ores listed, meaning that they are only obtainable from the Void Ore Miner, with the exception of the Tier 1 mineral Litherite.

The tiers are:

Tier 1: Litherite
Tier 2: Erodium
Tier 3: Kyronite
Tier 4: Pladium
Tier 5: Ionite
Tier 6: Aethium

Litherite is craftable using a diamond, 4 flint, 2 cactus green/green dye and 2 lime green dye (each recipe makes 4). For each of the tiers after 1, each structure block requires 1 of the previous tier, 2 of the relevant mineral, and 2 other items (ranging from iron all the way up to nether stars at the high level); the first tier requires a block called an "interconnect", made from black concrete and connectors (made from iron and redstone).

Apologies for the double post, but it seemed appropriate for this to have its own:

Number Crunching:

I've been doing some calculations on the cost of the structure blocks, and I have some values below. I haven't included the cost of the structure panels, the black concrete, any modifiers or the actual block itself - just the Structure Frame resource values for the various Tiers. I will show the values for resources including minerals, and an added diamond cost which assumes you make all Litherite from scratch (not recommended!). Thus:

Tier 1
24 Structure Frames:
120 Redstone
120 Iron
24 Lapis
48 Litherite

Litherite diamond cost:
12 diamonds

This is an unavoidable cost because you require litherite for the Void Ore Miner, so you will always need at least 12 diamonds to start with (and this doesn't count the cost of the litherite used to make the Void Ore Miner, so it is more than 12 in point of fact).

Tier 2

32 Structure Frames:
160 Redstone
160 Iron
64 Lapis
64 Litherite
32 Gold
64 Erodium

Litherite diamond cost:
16 diamonds

Tier 3
56 Structure Frames:
280 Redstone
280 Iron
112 Lapis
112 Litherite
56 Gold
112 Erodium
56 Diamond
56 Nether Quartz
112 Kyronite

Litherite diamond cost:

28 diamonds

Tier 4
56 Structure Frames:
280 Redstone
280 Iron
112 Lapis
112 Litherite
56 Gold
112 Erodium
56 Diamond
112 Nether Quartz
112 Kyronite
56 Emerald
112 Pladium

Litherite diamond cost:

28 diamonds

Tier 5

72 Structure Frames

360 Redstone
360 Iron
144 Lapis
144 Litherite
72 Gold
144 Erodium
72 Diamond
144 Nether Quartz
144 Kyronite
72 Emerald
144 Pladium
72 Prismarine
72 Nether Star
144 Ionite

Litherite diamond cost:
36 diamonds

Tier 6
92 Structure Frames:
480 Redstone
480 Iron
192 Lapis
192 Litherite
96 Gold
192 Erodium
96 Diamond
192 Nether Quartz
192 Kyronite
96 Emerald
192 Pladium
96 Prismarine
288 Nether Star
192 Ionite
192 Aethium

Litherite diamond cost:

48 diamonds

EDIT: Redstone values corrected. Also, as a little addendum to this, you'll need either ink sacs or some sort of black dye for the black concrete needed to make the interconnects - there is 1 interconnect per Tier 1 structure frame block, so the ink sac cost would be the number of frame blocks divided by 8 (as the recipe makes 8 black concrete powder with 1 ink sac); the sand cost would be 1/2 the number of frame blocks (4 sand for 8 concrete powder) and the same for gravel.

Hello again, hope I'm not treading on any toes @Pjc21; let me know and I'll pipe down! :) I did a bit more looking into the recipes and resources for the Void Ore Miner Controller (VOMC, for brevity) and some other blocks, my results are below. As mentioned, with regards to the void ore miner you require at least the first one to get the minerals required for any of the higher tiers, so you can take that cost as a given. I'll section it off into Spoilers for the sake of length.

Recipes

Void Ore Miner Controller

Tier 1
4 blocks litherite (36 litherite)
1 block diamond
2 interconnect (Interconnect: 4 iron, 5 redstone, 1 black concrete)
1 laser lens (clear lens: 7 glass; coloured: clear + dye)
1 diode (7 glass, 1 iron, 1 redstone)

Tier 2
6 blocks erodium (54 erodium)
1 block diamond
1 laser lens
VOMC T1

Tier 3 - onwards
6 blocks Kyronite/Pladium/Ionite/Aethium
1 block diamond
1 laser lens
VOMC (of previous tier)

This manner of pattern following is present not only for the VOMCs, but for the other miners, as detailed below:

Void Resource Miner Controller

The tiers follow the exact same pattern, but with an obsidian block instead of a diamond block.

Void Botanic Miner Controller

Again, the tiers follow the same pattern, but with a chorus flower rather than a diamond block, meaning you'll need to have gone to the End.

I also did some research into the Solar Array Controller (SAC) block recipes, and solar cell recipes as well; my results are below:

Solar Array Controller

Tier 1
4 blocks litherite
4 blocks lapis
1 solar cell (any tier)

Tier 2
4 blocks erodium
4 erodium solar cell
SAC T1

The remaining recipes for these follow the same pattern, whereby they require the SAC of the previous tier, 4 blocks of the tier mineral, and 4 of that tier's solar cell. Recipes for those are below:

Litherite solar cell

3 litherite
3 photovoltaic cell (4 lapis, 1 quartz)
2 redstone
1 interconnect

Erodium solar cell
3 erodium
2 photovoltaic cell
1 litherite solar cell

The remaining recipes for these again follow the pattern, whereby they require 3 of that tier's mineral, 2 photovoltaic cells, and one a solar cell of the previous tier.

Resources

Void Ore Miner Controllers
Tier 1
11 Redstone
9 Iron
14 Glass
9 Diamond
36 Litherite

Litherite diamond cost:
9 diamonds

As mentioned in my previous post, the diamond cost for making the litherite (in this case, 4 blocks worth) is the absolute minimum additional cost you MUST pay, because you cannot get any more litherite, or any of the other minerals for later tiers, without at least building the Tier 1 void ore miner. All further costs listed are TOTAL cost from scratch, which is why the litherite diamond cost remains at the bottom.

Tier 2
11 Redstone
9 Iron
21 Glass
18 Diamond
36 Litherite
54 Erodium

Litherite diamond cost:
9 diamonds

Tier 3
11 Redstone
9 Iron
21 Glass
27 Diamond
36 Litherite
54 Erodium
54 Kyronite

Litherite diamond cost:
9 diamonds

Tier 4

11 Redstone
9 Iron
21 Glass
36 Diamond
36 Litherite
54 Erodium
54 Kyronite
54 Pladium

Litherite diamond cost:
9 diamonds

Tier 5
11 Redstone
9 Iron
21 Glass
45 Diamond
36 Litherite
54 Erodium
54 Kyronite
54 Pladium
54 Ionite

Litherite diamond cost:
9 diamonds

Tier 6
11 Redstone
9 Iron
21 Glass
54 Diamond
36 Litherite
54 Erodium
54 Kyronite
54 Pladium
54 Ionite
54 Aethium

Litherite diamond cost:
9 diamonds

Void Resource Miner Controller

Costs are the same as for the ore miner controller, but the diamond cost is replaced by 1/9th the cost in obsidian (so T6, 54 diamonds would be 6 obsidian blocks); I will not include litherite diamond cost as at this point I would assume that at least a T1 VOMC has been set up and is obtaining litherite.

Void Botanic Miner Controller

Costs are the same as for the ore miner controller, but the diamond cost is replaced by 1/9th the cost in chorus flowers, and again no litherite diamond cost.

I will try and update this thread with solar array block requirements, solar array controller costs and solar cell costs later; I would also like to note something interesting I found: it seems that all arrays can use any tier of solar cell, as long as the Solar Array Controller and Structure Frame blocks are of the correct tier. Whether this makes a difference to RF generation, whether you can mix and match cells in the same array and so on, I do not know - further research required!

To be continued...

Ah awesome, cheers! :) In that case:

Solar Array block requirements

(caveat: as mentioned in an earlier post, these seem to require only the base tier of solar cell, and I don't know what difference higher tier cells make. Also, the structure frames are listed as needing that tier or above, so again I need to do further research there)

Tier 1
4 null modifier
16 structure frame block (any tier)
9 solar cell (any type)

Tier 2
4 null modifier
24 structure frame block (T2 or above)
25 solar cell (any type)

Tier 3
8 null modifier
32 structure frame block (T3 or above)
49 solar cell (any type)

Tier 4
8 null modifier
40 structure frame block (T4 or above)
81 solar cell (any type)

Tier 5
12 null modifier
48 structure frame block (T5 or above)
121 solar cell (any type)

Tier 6
12 null modifier
56 structure frame block (T6)
169 solar cell (any type)

Null Modifier: 4 glass, 4 iron, 1 interconnect
Interconnect: 4 iron, 5 redstone, 1 black concrete

Please note that some of the iron and redstone cost in my post about structure frame blocks is due to the interconnects; wasn't sure if that was clear.

Can you also list the RF/t for the void miner and the RF generated by the solar array?
Unfortunately I was working out these figures on a small custom instance on my work computer (naughty, I know) so I’ll need to do one at home - needless to say, that won’t be today ;)

But investigating RF production in the solar array is right up the top of my to-do list; void miner might be a bit more complicated but I’ll see what I can do. I’d also like to investigate total resource costs for the solar arrays of various tiers, but again my resources (in this case the spreadsheet I was using to help me calculate costs) are also on my work computer.

I won’t be rushing to do it, so if anyone else wants to take the baton, feel free; I’d be interested in the answer too!

Couldn't in reality some of these costs be much lower? Assuming that you are recycling some components and upgrading you T1 to a T2, and not making a T2 independently of that T1?

The cost of each is from scratch - sorry, I mentioned that in previous posts but I forgot to mention it here. So if you wanted to know the cost to upgrade from 5 to 6, you’d subtract those figures.

Hey Guys.
Is it Possible to use the Solar Power for Other Mod's like Draconic or IC2 or else?
I Play Revelations Modpack.
This Mod is kinda new for me and i farm about 3 Days just for the T1 Mats ...and still not finished... :D I like it

Ok so: the Environmental Tech mod uses an energy system compatible with something called Forge Energy. That works with Redstone Flux (RF) used by Thermal Expansion; Crystal Flux (CF) used by Actually Additions; Immersive Flux (IF) used by Immersive Engineering; and Tesla, used by a few different mods. All of these are completely compatible, and translate 1:1 - effectively they are the same. Draconic Evolution also uses RF, as do many other mods.

IndustrialCraft has its own energy units (EU) which are not compatible, though some mods provide conversion capabilities, also if Forestry still has the Electrical Engine, that converts EU to RF if memory serves.

Just a quick update on this thread; I may edit this post when I know more, or generate a new post, depending on how extensive it gets:

(NOTE: this is for Environmental Tech for 1.12.2, version 2.0.6b)

I did some more investigation, and sure enough, in a solar array the individual solar cells can be swapped out for higher tier ones, with a concurrent increase in RF generation. I tested this quickly by swapping out single litherite (Tier 1) cells from a top tier solar array with tier 2 and tier 6 cells, then swapping more out, before finally replacing the whole set of cells manually. I started off with a tier 6 array filled with tier 1 cells, as that's what generates when you use the Assembler on the T6 Solar Array Controller in creative mode.

To test this fully, I need more time than I had available to me last night, but as an idea of the difference, on replacing the T1 cells for T6 cells, the array went from about 330k RF/t to 1.7M RF/t. Obviously that's a huge resource cost too, but that's the sort of difference you get. I will do more research when I can, and update further.

Very, very useful guys, cheers for putting this all together - the totals are a little scary when you see them all written down!
As a caveat, I should say: this applies to 1.12 only - they changed the system, and the manual isn’t implemented so we stepped in to provide the info as best we can, until it’s done.

Was curious if anyone knows the dimensions needed for each tier? Also if anyone knows the preferred lens for each tier of crystals. It dont show the preferred in JEI its just blank.

I can help you here: if you’ve got the most recent version of Environmental Tech, you may need to regenerate the jsons - in the config folder, there should be a folder for the void ore miner that has 6 .json files, one for each of the tiers. Then next time you load up, new ones should be generated, and it should show the preferred lens as the crystal laser lens - made with a normal laser lens and 6 blocks of erodium.

As for dimensions, I need to check those. I know the solar arrays go as odd numbers; so T1 is 5x5x2, T2 is 7x7x2, T3 is 9x9x2 etc.

Awesome! Wow means i have to use alot of erodium just so that i can get more erodium lol. I love though that they made it way harder in the 1.12.2 version. Was way to easy to upgrade in previous versions.
