It seems that your definition even in games of the word realism is 100% accurate compared to real life. In my opinion, especially when it comes to games like Minecraft, it's not a definition that's of any use. I think that if people talk about realism in the context of minecraft they are talking about realism within the boundaries of the minecraft world.
And that's the biggest problem here: people are using wildly different concepts of realism and don't listen to each other when it comes to trying to understand what the other means.
