im with tyrindor, be nice if they would release whats in the new mod packs so we can research the new stuff, it keep us busy at least. direwolf20 did tweet his is all ready
I requested a modlist from DW20 but he never replies to any of my tweets. I don't get why FTB/DW20 are so stingy when it comes to releasing a mod list that is already finalized. There's no reason not to let us know so we can plan ahead and watch spotlights, we don't all have the ability of DW20 to talk to all the mod creators and learn mods first-hand... I like to learn basics before stepping into a new world, so I can figure out what progression path i'm going to take.
FTB said on twitter they won't release a modlist even though they have 2 stable packs already. I mean that's basically like saying: Hey screw you guys, we got 2 stable packs and we aren't going to give you a list just because, ya know, we just like to keep our fanbase in the dark for no reason. By not releasing modlists, it just makes me want to go to RR who's team actively replies to their fans.
Trying to keep positive and keep loyal to FTB.. but it's getting hard. All my friends have already started playing on RR, and i'm going to have to play alone as-is...
I haven't tried the RR stuff, but the AT launcher definitely doesn't even come close to the ease of use and functionality of the feed the beast launcher. Furthermore, it even sends you to adfly pages when you download a "pack" from the front-page, a pack that doesn't work correctly anyway. I wont say its terrible, and its surely better than having to do everything yourself, but its not really comparable to the ftb launcher from a usability standpoint.
The ATlauncher is far superior in ease of use and functionality.... It also only sends you to adfly pages for a select few mods because of how they were hosted/permission issues (It's like 6 mods out of the 178 mods in RR). After mods are downloaded, they are stored in a download folder and only needed to be re-downloaded if there's an update for the mod. It's far, far better than the current FTB launcher. You can create a new instance of a pack in seconds, with the FTB launcher you have to redownload it everytime.
Also, how does the pack not work correctly? I've put a good 40 hours in creative mode just messing around and i've had almost 0 issues. I update everytime there's a update (usually 1-3x a day), and my world still hasn't broke. It seems damn stable to me, especially for a beta pack.

The FTB Team doesn't get payed, all of the money goes to hosting the files.
This goes back to bandwidth issues caused by the inferior design of the current launcher, I mentioned above. Why not store mods in a download folder so after they are downloaded they can just be pulled from there for other packs/instances? This would greatly reduce bandwidth and hosting fees.
I'm assuming this is how the new launcher will handle things, same as the ATLauncher?
