You mean Thaumic Greg magic? "There will also be some built-in functionality to detect other mods and disable features automatically. It's almost like magic "-T154

Honestly we don't need someone mucking about in other addons buisness. "Oh sorry Thaumic exploration, you had the urn first? Nah mines better goodbye..." "Oh Advanced Thaumaturgy and Technomancy have essentia dynamos. Nah You should use mine."

I'm cautiously optimistic about Magistics.
not cautious enough for my taste... Don't get swept away by the shiny exterior of it's hook to nostalgia as He seeks to make his mod some major place holder in all thaumcraft by booting works others have done beforehand. It's completely disrespectful.

Whats best about this, is that midi is missing some pretty... important details, which have been pointed out a few times, which im currently laughing at xD
He's not missing it, he's purposely avoiding it. When someone tries to blame someone for something that's not even part of the original problem, that's when they lose the argument. Because you're just trying to change the subject to get something in which you are right, and even at that he's failing.

I'm talking about something else, about the Yandere Princess.

I just combed through the post several times. I did not see a single mention of this...

Okay took a minute and re read what he said and I think, or atleast I hope I misunderstood his post. I'm hoping what he meant was that his versions of said items/ blocks would switch off with other mods present. As the direct forum qoute was..

Yes, don't worry, I plan on that being applicable to all of the items added in the game! There will also be some built-in functionality to detect other mods and disable features automatically. It's almost like magic

P.S. The dynamo was recommended, and I didn't really feel like having it in, so I just put it under the list to be potentially added.
So for now i'll retract my statement.. But I'm keeping an eye on this mod...

Be polite. No name-calling, no attacking people. Do not make the moderators have to come back and hand out more warnings.
Not that I'm asking you to come back and hand out more warnings, but to whom is this referring to? Or is this just in general?

If it's me, I'm sorry~.[DOUBLEPOST=1397923658][/DOUBLEPOST]

I honestly don't mind if he wants to do a bit of GregTeching on people's mods, dude. We're not exactly innocent of it ourselves, Forbidden magic's done a -bit- of it. However if people want to do this, they should allow people to opt in to it, rather than straight up forcing its users.

That is NOTHING like GergTech
I never said that change was like Greg Tech. Doc Merely asked what FM changed.

My issue Magistics is with addons that fiddle around in other addons works. From the looks of the thread he is going to make the choices configurable. I do hope however that he defaults the other authors work before his own. He basicly has a certain balance of mind and some of the idea's he wants to bring to the table overlapped with other addon authors. However he mentioned creating a way to detect the presence and disabling of features. However he never specified their features, or his own.

A recipe change or two to fit the theme is fine in my book.. Erasing someones work and replacing it... That I'm not to crazy about. But others opinions will differ about this. But After reading the thread, A few of the mod authors also felt uncomfortable with this. As you can see on the front page, Flaxbeard already had commented on the thread.

I've already said what I have felt I need to say about it. I will try it once it's out before giving anymore words on it. But I'm also keeping myself from being swept up by models brought back from the dead and judge it as I would any mod by how I play, and how it interacts in thaumcraft as a whole. But sending parts of the Thaumonomicon family back into the shadows is not going to win me over.
