What do you mean? You eat food like normal in this... as long as you don't have heat stroke. (Or whatever it was called.)
Also did you just drink the water or did you put it into the backpack thing?

Oh yeah, I keep getting heatstroke so I guess that's it. I got the camel pack but I didn't use it because I didn't know how. :)

Hey, do I need to get in shade? I keep digging out under the spaceship to try to keep cool but I guess it doesn't matter, I still get heatstroke right away and die. Let me try the camel pack... well it seems to keep me at 100% hydration which is fine but if it doesn't extend the water supply it won't change much. Need to see if it's just a convenience thing or not. Edit: It seems to keep my temperature steady, maybe I can get somewhere now. Still no idea what to do after the first few quests. LOL

You don't need to keep the hydration at 100% you just need to keep it high, and the ship is made of metal and will get you very hot very fast, you'd be better off outside. Also once you start making dirt you can mix that with a glass bottle to get dirty water.

I got one dirt, how do I make more? It says "you should plant something on the dirt right away", but what? I have no seeds or anything to plant. Oh I know... I was gonna do the quest with the QDS thing next to the fluid transposer, but I have no power for it. I thought I read a piece of redstone can power a machine, but I couldn't figure out a way to do it. I am getting a ton of different dusts and stuff from sifting. One run I even got four glowstone so I made a glowstone block so I could light up my area at night for some protection. But as usual, I died and it's gone now.

And once I put the camel pack on, my hydration went to 99 and stayed there. But my temperature stayed steady this time. I died when fighting the zombies with my crescent hammer. It's not really a hammer, it's a wrench. LOL

P.S. One nice thing I REALLY like about this modpack... it loads in about 15 seconds. When I play my Monster world? Easily a full minute load time. Sure is nice not being bogged down with all those mods.

you have saplings
oh and you dont gain much heat under leaves

very cool, thanks. yeah, I'm not gonna ask too many questions once I get going because I know that takes the fun out of it, both for me and for the people reading the spoilers.

saplings, and do you know the mod from Ag Skies that lets you get ore? it has a way to make dirt and get seeds.

never played AgS, I tried it once, it crashed hard with some weird bug and I never tried again. *shrug* Oh well. Gotta learn these new mods, yeah. I like the sifter mechanics, this mod will be fun I'm sure once I get going with it.

Also the strong box has 2 flux capacitors, and you put those into the fluid transposer to power them.

DOH yeah i feel stupid

also, I just realized those two question marks in the quest book does NOT mean that those aren't unlockable yet. Silly me. LOL I see the easy route gives you an energy cell. I think I'm going easy route, I've already had way too much trouble just with the tutorial beginner phase. LOL

Tip#1 Don't drink the water - it's much more useful in your camel pack. So do the quest.

Tip#2 It's hard core. Try not to run/jump too much in the beginning you deplete yourself much more quickly. And stay away from things that are burning aka the fuel leaking engine right next to your shuttle remains.

Tip#3 Get to working on your shelter right away. Seems to be several strategies for this in the mod's thread - basically dig a trench for mobs to fall into and build a wall around your base so they don't see you.

Tip#4 Get a bed - fighting on an empty stomach is not fun. The spiders will climb your wall so might as well put them to good use.

Tip#5 For early food - mob drops can be eaten with a few additions - salt the dead meat and it becomes edible jerky. If you have some cooking utensils, make stock out of bones instead of bonemeal. You can sieve the dust for bonemeal.

Tip#6 Get a furnace - dirt + bottle = dirty water. The furnace will help clean it up.

Tip#7 Go and visit the mod thread and read it? Lots of ideas there.:p

All very true, and 7 was something I did a few days ago and it was a really big help! :D

Tip 8: Read the quest book thoroughly. I included as many helpful tips as I could.
also, never right click on a water source block, because that makes you drink from it. Since all water source blocks count as salt water in this pack, bad, bad things happen if you do.

I don't know if I'll ever get thru it, really struggling with it, but thanks for creating such an interesting modpack for us to play with an interesting concept. :)
