Messing with one of Dwarf Fortress's many config files. Specifically, I was trying to adjust a bunch of movement keys in a manner less painful than that offered ingame.
A lot of the movement keys are mapped to numbers. I'm on a laptop, so the numbers are only arranged in a line across the top of my keyboard; I wanted to remap 123456789 to ZSCAXDQWE. Which makes WASD the typical north-west-south-east controls, and the others the diagonals. X is "move to the same tile you're already in", which really isn't useful unless you can fly and want to move straight up or down.
