In no particular order:
  • XP: Do you have Tinkers' Construct installed? If so, an essence oreberry farm will work wonders for getting you the XP you need for large amounts of liquid chroma.
  • Ocean Temple: Aye, they're a bit hard to find. If you've got a minimap installed, look for something that looks like a hollow "L" in an ocean.
  • Crystal Tank: I believe the reason why is more technical than intentional, since the tank blocks are what you need to make en masse, so they're relatively cheap, whereas the controller (or the "brain," if you will) actually pulls the whole thing together and makes it work, thus necessitating greater expense. It doesn't hurt that you need far fewer controllers than tank blocks.
  • Runes: Aye, placing them in your casting structure is necessary for progression.
  • Tahara Crystal Shards: If you've got a grinder up and running (you mentioned you have RoC), then silking up the crystals and putting them through that gets you a dozen shards to the crystal which is a very good return. Also, once you get to making a lumen tree, shards become much easier to acquire in large quantities.
  • Progression: Finding the structures is necessary for progression. If you're using v9, then the desert structures are pretty much impossible to find, and you need to use a command (I forget which one, but its mentioned earlier on in this thread, search /chromaprog).

There's some purple crystals you can silk up for XP generation. I've seen Iskandar use 'em for chroma generation.

For XP with TiC go auto-smelt fortune lumber axe, it gives you xp as if you actually smelted the charcoal and you can easily do a few thousand charcoal in under a minute given a half decent megaspruce farm, I was getting about 3k charcoal and 20-30 levels already time with 24 megaspruce.

That's an interesting idea. Shard usage in ChC definitely isn't balanced, especially while making repeaters.

There is code in place to ensure no two recipes will ever conflict in regards to rune placement, you're intended to leave the runes in place after crafting something and forget about them. The altar does look exceptionally rainbow barfy if you place every rune for every recipe for sure.

If I recall correctly, every blank page in your inventory ticks at once every so often; this should already be fixed in v11.

Presumably because you're usually going to want like 300 crystal tank blocks per controller, and if they required the next tier up of crafting it would take a very long time to craft them.

My guess is try to find at least one of each ChC structure: burrow, sandy burrow, underground shielding cloak thing and ocean temple.

ChromatiCraft makes mob farms far more...interesting. Lumen turrets, even en masse, might not deal a tonne of damage, but they're just so cool-sounding that I can't help but enjoy using them.

Still looks like it is mocking us , because you can make the frame on temple but not until have a complex running to actualy use it; also it is not expensive to make.

I started using the lumen from pylons, but i am geting alot of crash, they work for a little them crash, and i need to revisit each one that are too far to connect back, even if CHC was suposed to keep it memorized.

Ty for the hint :) i don't want any big spoilers but when you say it could already be open where is it ? as far as i have seen from Reikas base tour you need a structure for it

I did not got that far yet, but , on most cases is the bottom line of info, all the structures are in there, so maybe it is there, how to make the portal.

update 3 (yeah i know) : same crash as the potion when trying to make a reprogramer (because is one of the few recipes that uses lument that i can craft without a wither drop) , idk why it is happening, i am kind of stuck if i cant make anything that uses lumen, the lumen arrive, but the recipe never finish, it just keeping going until it crashes (sometimes twice at once). I also get some chat error sometimes while placing item into the stands. breaking and replacing all and table dont seem to do anything.
help.

I'm stuck at the same point. I assume I need to craft the right thing (or enough things) to unlock the fragments to go forward in a way that isn't obvious. Last time I was stuck like this it was at the step whee the progress items were to craft elemental core and repeater, but it wouldn't let me have either fragment until I crafted something else that wasn't on the progress tree.

Unfortunately, most of the stuff I genuinely want to play with at the moment take either spatial rift powder or fluidic powder to make, and I can't seem to lay hands on either.

At that point you need to unlock nearly every previous entry, with a few exceptions such as non-gating ones (painful loss) and the mod integration ones. For what it's worth, it will be a lot clearer in v11.

I'm missing painful loss (would be trivial to get, but I just haven't died in a long time) and ocean temples (I've been told these stand out, but I have yet to find one). Everything else listed in progress above "Other Worlds" I've unlocked. Any further info fragments are blank (and I have enough in a chest to finish the book once I unlock things).

Last time I was stuck like this the ones I couldn't unlock were "Unity of Elements" and "Broadcasting", and crafting stuff triggered more fragments to unlock without unlocking a progress entry in the book. I'm wondering if I need to either craft more stuff or craft specific stuff to get another fragment to unlock and move forward.

Is there any better way to do it other than wandering the ocean randomly looking for something that suggests an L shaped structure? I've actually found several of the buried structure which 8 or so cave crystals on runes in the ocean while trying to find an ocean temple, but no ocean temples yet.

Not that I'm aware of, no, unless you have something that can detect certain block types in a large area. Tried it with Mek's digital miner, and it wasn't a good ChC structure detector. They're kind of a pain in the ass to find, but you only ever need to find one. They're one of the big reasons I wait to get into ChC until after I've achieved some form of long-distance flight.

Got the long distance flight covered -- pack has magical crops, I basically rushed essence infused armor out of the gate.

I'd consider trying to use the Mineral Extractor for that purpose, but it scans really, really slow and placing it kicks everyone off my server with a timeout. It's fine after a short bit, but damn does the mineral extractor not play well when it's first placed. It just uses all available resources and causes a timeout.
