Ohh ... I like that. It also means you have to actually go inside the tower, and not just derp-pile up.

Although ... I'll have to check where you get it. I thought it was found all over the tower, or at least past the first locked/4-key door.
There is a little cariminite available in the top 2-3 floors of the tower; however, it can also be crafted from towerwood and borer essence, if I remember correctly. While the towerwood is very difficult to harvest, it's not impossible to do and it will drop itself; borer essence can be obtained by breaking infested towerwood and releasing the silverfish-like mob inside.

I don't remember the recipe off the top of my head, but it is shown in item frames at the top of the tower (which, incidentally, are the only source of cariminite and its crafting components other than griefing the tower itself.)

What did you call it before?

I thought it was in the treasure chests in the tower? And yes, I recall seeing those recipes on the wall. I like that; a nice way for mods to show you what they include, putting the recipe in-game like that. It does take a scientist's lab to make sense, though.

I do like that the whole reactor/nether burst makes it possible to get even nether materials inside the forest. You can't get to the nether from TF (portals don't work), but you can get all the pieces/parts, except blaze rods... hmm ...

I've climbed the tower a few times myself and also watched Direwolf do it a couple times, and I don't recall seeing cariminite anywhere other than in the item frames in the cariminite reactor rooms. You *might* also get some as a drop from the Ur-ghast, I don't recall (but I don't think so). The treasure chests just have iron, diamonds, steeleaves, charms, Experiment 115s, the occasional tower key, and the like.

As for nether materials, I know glowstone drops from the wraiths in the largest hollow hills, and while there may or may not be a way to get blaze rods (although I do vaguely remember seeing some blazes in a dark tower once), there's certainly brewing stands on some of the dark tower's floors. Netherrack and ghast tears are obvious, once you've unlocked the tower. Netherwart, I think, drops from some boss (I want to say the lich), although I might be making that up. Soul sand, though... I have no idea.

Ahh; yes, I'm thinking of the experiment, not Carminite.

Which ... since you can make Carminite from the ground, and the experiment requires going through the chests, gating from the experiment food item makes more sense I think.

Speaking of which: I just realized that it's been a while since I tried the derp tower there. In the past, the towering was faster than the mini-ghasts could target (they always missed); has their aim improved?

I'm having a problem with my casting complex. Worked the first time i used it. Now when crafting anything it just runs but wont draw lumens from the repeaters. if i place a crystal charger on top of the table it receives all 16 colors. I'm trying to craft a power crystal for progression. Do I need to craft something else first. I need this progression to unlock battery for lumen tree. Any help would be helpful.

Does the table have a clear line of sight?

So question on Location Warp. I've gotten the ritual and maxed out my internal energy (says I'm at 400,000 and appear to be full) However, everytime I click on Add Point nothing happens. I hear a clicking noise but nothing pops up indicating the point was added. Clicking Go to and Remove also does nothing :(

Is there something server side that might be preventing this from working?

The ability appears to be broken.

Well that sure is disappointing :(

Now what about the Charged Aura Cleaner. I thought leaving it in the Aura Bag would allow it to work but I've also kept it in my hand. However everytime I go to check my warp using the Sanity Checker I haven't seen any noteable drop in my warp. Does that take a long time to work or is that broken too.

It works slowly, and I doubt the sanity checker shows all forms of warp.

Unless I'm mistaken, there are 3 types of warp (temporary, sticky, permanent), which are all shown on the sanity checker as different shades of purple.
Wait...shades? How can one quantify the decrease (and how does it handle "overflow", i.e. at what warp value is "maximum purpleness" attained, and what happens if you exceed that value)?

Temporary warp is gained by things like eating brains and getting attacked by things in Thaumcraft's Outer Lands dimension. It gradually decreases on its own, and is nullified entirely by Sanitizing Soap. The Sanity Checker represents it as a light purple bar atop of the darker bars for the other types of warp.

"Sticky" warp (or just Warp, as it's called in-game) is gained by researching forbidden knowledge and from crafting items gained by forbidden research. It does not decrease on its own, but can be removed a very small amount at a time by the application of Sanitizing Soap. You have a better chance of removing a bit of this type of warp if you use the soap while under a Warp Ward buff. The Sanity Checker represents this as a medium purple bar between the other two bars.

Permanent warp can only be obtained by the more warping forbidden researches. It cannot be removed by any means available in vanilla Thaumcraft, and the Sanity Checker represents it as a dark purple bar at the bottom of its meter.

As for what happens if your total Warp level would exceed the top of the Sanity Checker... I don't really know. I would guess it's capped.
It's also worth noting that it's impossible to fill the Sanity Checker more than a fifth of the way or so with permanent warp without a bunch of mods adding forbidden knowledge; and sticky warp isn't easy to get a lot of either. However, in the Outer Lands, it's not hard to fill it to the top with temporary warp, especially if you're not careful around those glyph stones (which zap you, causing a little damage and some temporary warp).

This does not really answer the question. My point is that if there is some sort of "maximum display value", yet you accrue more than that value, it will be steadily decreasing yet not display. Also, the pendant does clear temporary warp first, and only move on if that is zero.

I don't know what happens in that case. My guess is that if your total warp exceeds whatever the maximum shown in the Sanity Checker is, temporary warp is deleted until the total is lowered to the cap. If you're out of temporary warp, it'd delete sticky warp, etc.

But that's merely a guess based on how I would code it if I was writing the mod. I have not looked at Thaumcraft's source code or done any detailed testing.
