If I forceably use a command via HQM when a player gets to a certain point and 'unlocks' starting Chromaticraft, that I forceibly unlock the entries in the book that require them to go to the Overworld, bedrock, and Nether, is that considered a modification to your mod? In my modpack, the player will start in Twilight Forest and be stuck there for a large duration of the time without access to the overworld or the nether. I'd like for them to be able to explore Chromaticraft and be able to progress through the mod without them having access to those other dimensions. I'd merely be forcing a unlock of those pages due to the implied restrictions.
Yes, that would count as a modification, but that alone would not be sufficient: CC requires a great deal of overworld-specific generation, from biomes to trees to structures to pylons to plants and ores, even in the early game. Without those, the mod is unusable. You would literally have to reimplement half the mod.

Hmm, are we doing something similar here? I'm planning on having access to the overworld occur after getting to the top of an Ur-Ghast tower. You don't actually have to kill it, just reach it. No clue yet how to detect this, though :)

Without those, the mod is unusable. You would literally have to reimplement half the mod.
But I've checked. CC generates pylons, ores, and a lot of the plants in Twilight Forest natively without me having to change anything. All of those are already included in the generation. o.o Even the blue flowers (I forget names) spawn natively in twilight forest as do all the ores I've seen so far and so do all the crystals. So if there's crystals, ores, flowers, and pylons, am I missing something? And I know CC has integration with CC so that the pages you can find in chests from the loot-tables natively and right out of the box. I've also tested and double-checked that. Am I missing something? It seems like everything they'd need to start and progress in CC is already readily available to them in Twilight Forest, at least beginning-mid tier anyway. Mid-endgame I'll be granting them access to those other dimensions, anyhow.

Then you prob using an old version of Chromaticraft. Pylon generation was limited to the overworld a fair while back. (I think about v4? I don't recall exactly off top of head. This was mostly due to the pylons intersecting oddly with some TF stuff.

Pylons were spawning on top of trees about as often as they weren't.

v3 is... what, almost a year old?

So I'm a bit stuck atm. I have all the way up to the recharge progression. Next progression is Other Worlds but there's no image for it. I have 142/154 pages and I've crafted the following:

Lumen Tree, Luminescent Battery, World Rift, Ender Crystal and even broke a crystal from my Lumen Tree but I'm still getting blank pages. What other thing do I have to craft that I'm missing in order to progress. Would have thought that making any of those things would have caused more pages to appear but I guess not.

Should I craft an energy focus?

UPDATE: Creating an energy focus and making the casting frame did not solve the problem
UPDATE2: Creating Multichromic Rune and Multistep Repeaters all did nothing, running out of things I can think of that might come close to unlocking more pages for the next progression :(
UPDATE3: Tried making Chromastone but that also failed to get me any further.

I know one of the things I'm missing is the vaccum cleaner, portal rift, and turbocharging but I've crafted everything that could be used in that device to no avail. I think the turbocharging stuff is after the other world progression though :/

Let me guess, it's the sandy burrows I need to get right? That's the only other progression I haven't gotten. How far down to sandy burrows generate?

Yup, you need sandy burrows to get to the dimension, unfortunately. If you're able, you can use /chromaprog 21, I think. That should get you the sandy burrow bit unlocked and allow you to progress further. Currently, there's a bug where the generation code for sandy burrows have some...oddity regarding their restrictions that makes them incredibly rare.

I'm playing on a server and I don't have access to that command. I'll see if one of the server admins would be willing to run that command or I guess I could wait until v10? How rare are we talking anyways?

Rare as in nearly impossible to find. I believe Reika said he'd fix it come v10, but I'm not exactly sure as to when said version will be released.

Rare as in if you spent a real-time day flying around an infinite mystcraft desert at high speed, you'd still not be likely to get one to spawn, and even if you did they're pretty hard to spot. They're supposed to be about as common as pylons in a desert biome.

also, /chromaprog accepts a username argument, e.g. /chromaprog 21 <playername>

Do ocean temples spawn in BoP Deep Ocean biomes? Or am I better off making a new single biome ocean world to find one (do they spawn in nonoverworld dimensions)?

Aye, they do, but they're very rare. Thankfully, they're not hard to spot on a minimap, just look for something underwater that looks like a capital "L."

I'm half thinking about draining the ocean next to my base to look for one, that and NULL are the only things left on the first row for me.

What's the best way to find knowledge fragments? I haven't found any in the overworld, and only a handful in the twilight forest.

The best places are the ChC dungeons themselves. Twilight Forest is an alright supplier, but somewhat infrequent and relatively dangerous if you're less than prepared. My best results in that dimension were in the hollow hills, especially the big ones, though I think that might just be due to the large amount of loot chests.

@Noiro: How old a version are you using? Because if you are sticking with an ancient version, pack permission would be rejected on that alone.

Found a crash bug if it helps any.
Accidentally building/ clicking on the ritual table with the Extra Utilities builders wand causes a reproducible crash.
Crashlog which is out of my powers of deciphering. Hope it helps in some way.

Hey @Reika . I have a quick question. Im currently working with pylon turbocharging and i saw the video you uploaded. I have discovered everything, yet i cant seem to find a recipe for the Crystal pylon focus i need to put on top of the crystalline stone column that form the ring around the pylon as shown in the video. I assume they are supposed to be craftable, and that i dont have to destroy two world gen pylons for every one i want to turbocharge?
When i click the block in NEI it directs me to a page in the lexicon, but the recipe is not to be found there.

Ohh ... I like that. It also means you have to actually go inside the tower, and not just derp-pile up.

Although ... I'll have to check where you get it. I thought it was found all over the tower, or at least past the first locked/4-key door.
