I will admit I was alittle angry at first, but then after giving it some thought I realized it wasn't really hurting anything, unless you tried to take this thread over.
*shrugs*
...........I just realized my corrupted world had TWO SETS OF BoP SWIMMING FINS (lets you move just as fast in water as you do on land).
*SOB*
That said, I have cats (spotted probably 150 wild ocelots prowling around, I probably have 15+ cats at this point. Still no siamese grr), AND three dogs AND four donkeys that I've found. All I had was Donkeys before. No Cats, no Dogs (hadn't even found a JUNGLE).
My current project: Building a highway through the southern reaches of the Timbervale Jungle to reach the Ass Plains on the other side--so named because it is there that I found my donkeys. The Ass Plains are FULL of horses. If Journeymap can export the explored map into a picture file, I'll probably throw it up and label it.
And it's a PITA to try to get horses through the jungle (it's gonna be a LOOOONG ride to get a Donkey or two to the trade hub/mining camplike 1.5 and 3k roundabout as opposed to ~700 and 1.1k over the ocean).
At first I was cutting down EVERY tree, then every tree but Jungle 2x2s, then every Oak Trees (because Amaranth are TALL, yo).
Now I'm just clearing out the underbrush unless there' a place the horse wouldn't be able to get through. Using Logs to build 4-wide bridges over rivers, so I don't have to slow down.
Also, my world, which seemed so huge when I was travelling by foot, is considerably smaller when I started using boats (and using boats to get my three dogs from the Ass Plains back to Timbervale). There's basically 2 giant oceans atm, separated by a tiny isthmus (well, more a pair of peninsulas REAAAAAALLY close to each other. Timbervale and the Ass Plains are in the Northern ocean, the Trading Hub/Capital and the Mining Town in the Southern. Although there's a Swamp that basically surrounds the Mining Town's ocean access that makes it a PITA to get there. Eventually I'mma need to clear a path out for boats.
Also probably make buoys with torches on them so I don't accidentally move a couple hundred blocks in the wrong direction--and a smallish floating platform in the middle of the Ocean. possibly a small, regional trade hub?
At this point, I think this world is WAY better than the corrupted one, even if I don't have anywhere near the progress. It even has some Mesas. With above-ground mineshafts. and Bryce Mesa. and Mesa Plateaus. Except they're 7k away from the Jungle, and there isn't a Jungle near the Mesa. I considered starting in the mesa, but hardened clay takes a pickaxe, and doesn't have cats and Tropical Hives (super backpacks FTW).
And I was going to make some more progress and do some wiki stuff tonight, but the wiki stuff turned into protecting everything and I don't think I have the energy for more than that tonight.
Oh well, guess I get to work on my Jungle Highway some more.
.....probably gonna make a second shot at trying to do a MC Forums thread here soon. The last one is soooo old and was from before wikispaces went subscription only.
EDIT: Or maybe I'm I'm in a better mood for writing than I thought.
Races is updated with 4 things for each race: Each one now has a favorite type of wood, food, friendly mob, and hostile mob. Gnomes hate Witches (despite them being a race in the Challenge). Testificates like Wheat and Oak Wood.
Dwarves like Dark Oak and Mushrooms.
I would like, eventually, to build up a custom pantheon, with a god/ess for each Race. maybe even give them in-game effects if they have a shrine/etc inside a town.
Also, going to be get going on updating the stages again once I get a bit more work done on the guilds.
Going forward, there will be a certain amount of people that just live there. stuff you always need to build. Then there will be other areas, like Agriculture, the next major section I plan on tackling, that will allow you to either build relatively little and have one or a few person/peeople controlling food production for everything, or tons of little houses everywhere.
Or, you know, a mix of the two. A couple main manufacturers in the central area, and a bunch of tiny people in the boonies. or the opposite. Or no big guys, no small guys, just a bunch of medium-range stuff.
And the work I do on THAT will easily branch out to almost everything else, thanks to the new Guild system. each section will need some attention all its own, but not as much as if it were all from scratch.
EDIT2: aaaaaand MCF doesn't save drafts for new threads.
REALLY? there goes half an hour of work down the drain because my browser froze up for hwat seemed like ever.
