Can any machine plant a rubber tree without humus?

Ok I know an Arboretum will plant trees and even rubber trees onto humus but will it work without humus? Or barring that is there any other machine of any kind that will plant the rubber trees automatically as long as there is a spot to plant them? Steve's carts can't seem to handle rubber trees so while you can make a nice tree farm without humus you cant plant rubber trees.

Oh sure I can make sticky resin with the uu-matter I'm producing but I have other uses for it. I'm just trying to find a way to auto farm a diamond chest or 2 worth of sticky resin for rubber without having to replace the humus when it all turns into sand.

Any ideas?

Turtles should be an option, although I cannot confirm that for sure as I have not made a rubber farm as I've got a T5 slime shard, and you can smelt slimeballs into sticky resin (at least with GregTech enabled).

Well you could use a RP2 deployer. It mimics the right click action, and will "right click" with the items you give it. You can give it saplings and it will plant them.

So I guess you could replace the farm's auto planting with this, and still use a logger to collect/feed saplings to the deployers.

Wow, what a wild idea. It can't be that simple. That's too great.

I bet you could have a second set of deployers use bonemeal on the planted saplings. Wouldn't that be something. I am a genius.

If you're a genius, why aren't you using a turtle to do all of that, as well as cut down the logs, kill the skeletons needed for the bonemeal, and extra the resin into rubber?

Turtles terrify me. I wish I had the time to learn how to program them, but I don't.

Plus I'm studying ME not CS. I guess overly complicated systems with little programming are more of an ME thing .

Buildcraft filler can plant up 64x64 field of saplings. Don't recall if you have some spots not dirt/grass if it skips over them or grinds to a hault.

Eh, the amount of programming required really is extremely small, but I can understand that.

Other options for sticky resin: IC2 crop breeding for stickreed (wouldn't personally recommend it; not much fun, not very high yield, can't automate as far as I know), bees for propolis which turns into sticky resin in a centrifuge (takes some work to get a high yield system going, but bees are lots of fun)...hmm, and I feel like I'm missing one more way to get it that hasn't been mentioned. Scrapboxes maybe?

I'm 99.9% sure that I watched a video (linked from this board here) for a machine that did exactly this. Not specifically for rubber trees, but definitely automated planting/bonemealing.

Just get bees propolis can be centrifuged (forestry one) to get resin.
