Personally I like doing mfr tree farms and railcraft boilers. I think I have 240 high pressure boilers. Also creosote in a boiler gets you a good amount of power I have about 10 boilers on creosote. Gregtech's fusion reactors are awesome but take a very long time to set up though they do supply you with a virtually unlimited supply of power and I have 4 of those. Big reactors and reactorcraft's reactors I have countless amounts of. I also love endless amounts of photovolic cells. These are my favorite types of power but know I use many more.

I'd definitely have to go with Big Reactors. It's pretty much everything that IC2 Nuclear Engineering should have been. It is complex, there's many options you can use if you want to tweak for various criteria (fuel efficiency, power output, or cheap... pick ONE), there's a lot of meta involved when you start diving into the mechanics, and your first reactor is merely the beginning...

If you can live with "magic block" power, take a look at compact windmills. They require quite a bit of iron to build (~100,000 for the equivalent of 65k RF/t), but are 100% maintenance free when using iridium rotors and doesn't use any fuel. Very low FPS / TPS impact from what I've seen.

Big Reactor turbines are the way to go for me in Agrarian Skies.

My nice 9x9x5 reactor supplies enough steam to produce about 110k RF/t with turbines, but currently I only have 2 turbines which produce ~48k RF/t so the reactor is throttled down to produce only 4k steam.

If you supply MFR drills with it you get so much yellorite/sulfur you will be swimming in that stuff, so the reactor is 100% self sustaining.

Are you really spending 100,000 iron to produce 65k RF? Not that I want to judge, but with turbines you need about 2000 iron/steel to produce 72k RF ;)

The turbines wont run forever without fuel (steam), though.

Granted it's a huge cost up front, but I just thought it gave me a reason to use those QuarryPlus. :)
