I tried using compactwindmills on my first monster playthrough. Not worth the resources if you ask me.

If you're going to build a tower up to almost level 150 just for your power system, you may as well make a tower of dynamos that tall :D

I just used an angel block to build a platform up there, then power converters and tesseracts to get the power down to the base.

If your definition of "late game power" is providing RF to power MFFS, AE, MFR mining lasers or Quarries, then Big Reactors are relatively easy to set up and will provide all the power you need.

If your definition of "late game power" is power for power's sake, then ReactorCraft is where you should be looking.

Actually it is not only power for power's sake. RotaryCraft has plenty of machines that require a great deal of power. I'm also uing Big Reactors right now and I just barely manage with my limited amount of RoC machines that I have but when I'm going to expand my base I will at some point need to go to a more powerful type of reactor.

I´m using a simple mfr treefarm into dynamos for earlygame
mid to late is big reactors in combination with a MFR laser Drill. Most OP combo I saw so far. a 15x15x6 big reactor with crytheum give me 42k RF/t and I the yellorium/Uranium I get from it is 97% win. Just 3% is needed to keep the reactor running.

So I´m able to build up as much more reactors I need to power everything.
Now for fun I will do a ReactorCraft Reactor but not because I feel the need. Well, maybe for the rotarycraft machines but not to much into them atm.

The turbines wont run forever without fuel (steam), though.

If you supply MFR drills with it you get so much yellorite/sulfur you will be swimming in that stuff, so the reactor is 100% self sustaining.

Like I said, if you use some of the power to run a MFR drill you will generate way more fuel than you use, even a mediocre passive cooled reactor produces more fuel than it uses. With turbines I produce 10x more fuel than I use and I don't even run at full efficiency, which makes it self-sustaining and great in terms of ressources.

RoC fusion reactor.
THE end-game power source.
one of these will run an entire medium server comfortably. with power to spare.

on a slightly less insane note, even a smallish PBR or regular reactor will churn out plenty.
