So. I have forestry on hardmode. The only mods installed are forestry, railcraft, thaumcraft, gregtech, and some others, mostly ones that cannot help me solve my problem.

Now this may shock a few of you, but buildcraft is not installed, as the server deemed it too OP, along with most mods in existence. We use gregtech pipes (awesome pipes BTW) for automation, and forestry and railcraft engines for BC power. No way of transferring mj with pipes.

How would one go about creating a good bee setup with these limitations? I need enough power to run forestry machines on hardmode, breed bees efficiently and eventually automate it.

Anyone have experience with this? Carbonbasedghost and phycist I am looking straight at you ( hint its the Kirara server).

And no, we do not have xbees or gendustry. If buildcraft is OP, what do you think xbees and such is in the eyes of the server ? :p

Tangent: I'd love to see some screenshots of your GT pipe setup.
So far I've only found and used the bronze liquid pipes (which are okish).

When I get back from vacation, sure. Right now I am away from my PC

If you take that Bee train, you'll find the quickest way to get to Harlem. Railcraft FTW!

Hehe, these limitations for automation appears to be too limited for me. :p I would've just ban some items that were deemed OP in BuildCraft, not discarding the mod completely. :)

somehow i feel that BC was banned because it's pipes too OP compared to GT's... so situation wouldn't change :)

Correct. There was no incentive to build the expensive gregtech pipes when buildcraft needs just a piece of glass.

Also in order to clarify, I was wondering how to transport MJ without BC pipes as well as how to sort bees and apiaries with either Thaumcraft, railcraft, or gregtech. AE2 is out of my reach.

Use the electrical engines to create the MJ at each machine, they run off of EU and are fairly cheap requiring about 12 tin and a piston and glass.

Is it just me or do they not provide enough MJ? I couldn't get the thermionic fabricator going
Forestry wiki "The Electrical Engine is used to convert EU from Industrial Craft 2 into MJ from Buildcraft. The engine produces 2 MJ/t and requires 6 EU/t"[DOUBLEPOST=1405163219][/DOUBLEPOST]

Also you could give a machine it's own small steam engine from railcraft.

OK, thanks. I'll try that out
