Back in my day, I Singleplayer Command'ed a bow with all the weapon enchants at level 10 as well as two instances of Sharpness X and used it as my weapon in one testworld. It did at least as much damage at range or melee as a diamond sword, and sent anything and everything flying.

Come to think of it, that wasn't the world in which I eventually spawned about twenty Enderdragons. Good times.
