I can see a few modders like Doctor who, like Azanor, and also MysteriousAges, because if you look at the apiarist's Database with the Timely bee, Lordly bee, and Doctoral bee, you can see some pretty blatant references, like Galifreis, Rassilonis etc...

a few days ago, someone showed that pocket dimensions mod. it's a door that stands around in the landscape, and by going through it, you are in a black pocket with the size 3x3 chunks. 2 way doors to go in and out, additional doors possible to go to deeper dimensions. several 9 chunk-worlds should be enough for a tardis...

Not to mention the fact that Timely Bee plus Lordly Bee equals Doctoral Bee (which is TARDIS blue) in the first place...

wasnt there a microblock mod that could shrink you down? you need to set down a special invisible microblock-enabler thing, then all the blocks you placed on them are smaller versions of them.
with something like this it could be possible to make a tiny room very big on the inside, without switching to another dimension

You're thinking of the Little Blocks mod, which, unfortunately, can't really shrink you down. You need the Gulliver mod (and some sort of Player Detector such as a pressure plate and Splash Potions in a Dispenser) to do that, which has limited Forge compatibility.

I was talking about the game mechanics. Minecraft can't have a hole between two dimensions in the game. Portals are really a teleport mechanic for what ever touches them.

Which is why we'll never be able to see the inside of a Minecraft Tardis from the outside, or vice versa.

Because all you'll see is the portal block, and unless the door has a chunk loader build in to it, the Tardis exterior won't be loaded when your inside, nor will the interior be loaded when your outside of it.

I had seen a mod ......somewhere......that let you see the Nether from the Overworld.......it made the Nether portal just like a window and travel became instantaneous ,not teleporting........can't remember if it was showed on Bepopvox's channel or Paul's......or a different one altogether.

Wow nice to see this thread getting love still. Incidentally, the other day i saw the Fallout (original) Easter Egg where you run into the TARDIS, and my little brother realised why The Doctor was there; The final boss of the first fallout game's name is The Master.

If you can ignore the fact that it IS indeed still teleporting - and you're either a dedicated server admin OR play SSP ... there's also the command block, which should make for a somewhat smoother transition between the inside and the outside, as long as the (bigger) inside 'room' is well hidden somewhere near bedrock, or the like. ;)

[Edit] This has (obviously) been done in about 10 minutes. But yeah, works. ;)
And don't throw stones at me - I merely glanced over a few "inside" images on imagoogle. ^^

JUST in case someone wonders: The Tardis "inside" consists of inverted yellow lamps, Nitor, a Camouflage Pressure Plate and Glowstone.
