I just started a new Monster world (was on one of the earlier versions) and have a question about Magic bees.

I was mining at level 7 when I find a infernal hive surrounded by glowstone and 2 oblivon hives surrounded by end stone.

Is this normal or is my world gen somehow messed up?

Because it feels pretty weird having access to glowstone and end stone half an hour into a world.

As far as I'm aware, it is actually normal.

Just mined 10 blocks or so further and there is another infernal hive and another oblivion hive, how often spawn these things down there. o_O

But thanks for the answer, but I find it a little strange to be honest.

edit: With a single 2x1 tunnel at level 7 I got in 120 blocks 3 infernal hives and 6 oblivion hives, that's just ridiculous.

Doing some more research (since I'm trying to solve my own Magic Bees issues) it seems there MAY be a bug, especially since hive generation changed this version; see http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic...or-to-thaumicbees/page__st__860#entry29778046 (and the thread in general) for details and check your console logs.

Edit, it might ALSO have something to do with where you're digging; is it in a "magic" biome? MysteriousAges has a config option "to not spawn special hives in Magic Biomes for people who hate fun, and specialness."

Just tested this myself; my results suggest that you still had a "run of luck" as it were, but dropping down to the bottom of a Magic Forest biome, it took me about a minute to find a nether hive. A little more searching found another one, and an oblivion hive. I suspect we've found your culprit.

And yes, two MORE Oblivion hives shortly after that.

Is a rainbow forest considered a magic biome? If yes then I was mining in a magic biome and you found the reason for my lucky bee hunting.

And thanks for your great help, really appreciate it :D

Not a problem, I was sorting through all this stuff anyway.

I believe Rainbow Forest is defined as a magic biome; Thaumcraft's purified blooms or whatever (the ones you normally have to make in a crucible) grow there, which would seem to be a strong indicator.

Rainbow Forest manually spawns them to prevent taint from changing the biome, which can be disabled in the config. I'm not sure if it's considered magical, though.

I've noticed when I play FTB modpacks that the results of recipes are often changed to a different item that matches in the ore dictionary. For instance, IC2 macerators producing pulverized metals from Thermal Expansion, or smelting recipes always resulting in the same ingot from one mod, eliminating duplicate ingots from different mods. I was wondering what mod did this... is it part of this GregTech Unification I've heard about, or changed recipes with MineTweaker, or something else?

Is there a way to take the rain from this website: http://www.rainymood.com/

Then use that for the rain sounds in minecraft? I wouldn't mind it so much if it was that.

Aaaaalso, is there a deep storage type of block for liquids? Or a way to store like billions of buckets? Using DW20 pack.

If I understand it correctly, this is due to the load order of the mods within Forge. The last one takes priority with the oreDict.

What does Tinkers' Construct Exo armor do? It doesn't give any armor, so does it do something different?

Also, What are the Slime channels for?

Does looting have any impact on ender lilies? I mean if I break ender lily with looting tool will it increase my chances of getting more ender pearls and ender lilies from it or not?

Not unless the author did some very special coding. The looting enchant only works for mob drop chances.

how to get destabilized bee in DW20 1.6.4 1.0.19.

Says it needs a foundation of redstone ore which i tried with no luck. Looking at the master apiarist database in single player, it says 0% chance to mutate? Is it possible to get these bees?

Thanks

How could I make a redstone contraptions that when I step on a pressure plate it activates immediately but lasts for certant amounth of time. I want to make it power a drawbridge.

The basic idea is a pressure plate feeding redstone hooked up to a pulse lengthener. You can do this with vanilla redstone (look up redstone pulse lengthener on youtube and you should find plenty of examples), but the most compact solution is probably either MFR's rednet controller thingie or a computer from computercraft. The coding on the computer wouldn't be too hard, but if you'd rather not code at all, I'd recommend the MFR route.

I was going to try ars magica 2 for the first time in my modpack but the modpack had 1.1.0 first (didnt work at all, could not get levels)
So i updated it (1.1.2b) and the update went live yesterday, now i can get levels so i watched some youtube tutorials, but now i got another problem, i cant link the essence thingys

TLDR; am i supposed to right click with a Crystal Wrench on the rune in the neutral essence nexus and then right click on the top block in the crafting altar?
Because i dont see any light when i right click with it on stuff, i have a light nexus and a neutral one, the light one sends to the essence refiner automaticaly and the neutral one sends to my keystone receptacle automatically.
Is this a glitch or has something changed from the verision that the tutorial is made for?
