Only way I know of emptying jars is the vials.
Guess that means I'll have to throw away my jars that only have 2 essentia.

Don't have any empty jars around if you don't want them filled with unwanted essentia: Make sure all your jars with at least one vial of the essentia you want to keep stored.


Aah ok cool so the decanting golem will only fill jars that already have some essentia in them?

Mobs can't spawn in any block that has something in it. Carpets, lilly pads, slabs, conveyor belts, torches, all these things will stop mobs from spawning.

But can't mobs spawn on flowing water? I'm sure I saw a vanilla mob drop trap that involved a platform with flowing water.

Mobs spawned by spawners can spawn in midair. A common vanilla design is to make a room full of water flows under a spawner to quickly move the mobs out of range of the spawner to maximize spawn rates. However, normal mob spawning will not spawn monsters in water.

How many layers of Warded Stone do I need to use to prevent players from glitching through? Was it two or three layers?

Actually, what I meant was that if you have any empty jars the golem will likely start filling them with the essentia you don't want. It's like the concept of spreading out items to fill all the slots a chest so unwanted items won't be stuck into it by an automatic sorting system.

My PortalMod Turrets keep dying, and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why.

I'm on peaceful, so there's no mobs that could be doing this - I set up a line of turrets, and waited and just one after the other...they just fell over and died. Is this a known bug - some interaction between turrets and something else? I tried to replicate this in a new world and actually couldn't, so I'm not sure what the problem is...:(

Did you accidentally walk into them? They fall over when they make contact with a player.

I had them walled off and behind iron bars. After I noticed they were dying, I tested it by putting them down and simply standing and watching from several blocks away. After about 1 to 2 minutes had elapsed, all of them had, one-by-one, fallen over and died.

I just started playing ftb and one of my friends has a sword that takes an item out of your inventory every time he hits you. (takes armor too)

Its 1.1.4 Unleashed all mods enabled. Someone please tell me how to make this sword... Hes a screenshot of it

Looks like a force sword. No clue what he could have infused it with, though.

I am trying to output a redstone signal when an array of factorization batteries are empty of charge. Experiments have shown that nothing from factorization works with gate conditionals. Are there any other blocks that could do this? maybe a computer craft add-on that I do not know about? I am running the current direwolf20 modpack.

Tl;DR Is there a Way to find the charge of a Factorization battery Automatically as a redstone Output?

How can I distribute items in a particular proportion? I've calculated that for my MFR farm setup to be sustainable, I need five fertilizer going to the wheat for every two that go to the netherwart. What can I do to divide my fertilizer in these proportions?

A diamond pipe with 5 fertilizer on one row and 2 on another would do that. It depends on what method you're using for transporting things though?

Applied Energistics, but I can mix in other stuff if I need to.

EDIT: I just tried that. Five fertilizers marked on the diamond pipe's blue output, and two on the yellow. I put 21 fertilizers in a chest. If it works, I would expect 6 fertilizer in one chest and 15 in another. It didn't work. The fertilizers just got distributed to each one randomly.

EDIT EDIT: Ooooh I see it's probability based, not round-robin based. I see. So in the long-term it'll work out as long as I have a large enough buffer of fertilizer to account for inconsistencies.

anyone know with tinkerers construct waht does large plate modify, I know blade adds dura and damage and handle is to boost durability, binding and guard is for trait only ...is large plate for trait as well or does it modify something else?

Large plate is used in T2 tools\weapons. It is used in conjunction with the head\blade to determine mining speed\damage and also durability.

So, this surely is a Thaumcraft spoiler, you've been warned!

I can't complete the infernal furnace research. As far as I know, there are only 3 aspects I can use, and I used all 3 and still can't finish it.

Any tips?

Scrap that note and try again. Sometimes research is literally impossible. After a while, you get a pretty good eye for it and will scrap notes before progressing very far.
