Because someone spilled a LOT of liquid nitrogen.
Why did I miss the guy I was swordfighting with in D&D 4 times in a row, and why - once me and another party member were defeated in a 2-on-1 duel surrounded by enemies - did they knock the whole party out but leave us alive, yet had no qualms about killing innocents including women and children?
