...and I already have a Mining Well running. It brings in enough Cobblestone to feed the Miner, if I use the latter sparsely. The thing with the Miner as of now, is that I can only dig up stuff accesible by a Stone Pickaxe, which means it probably skips a few useful ores. The Mining Well, on the other hand, digs up everything.

Hopefully, I'll avoid going all-out with Quarries this time 'round, but I guess I'll end up with a pretty big hole anyway. Oh well, time to create something spectacular with the holes. I'm considering a base on pillars instead of floating in the sky. Or maybe I'll simply make a roof over it and build my base in the eternal gloom of a large cavern. Either way, I think I'll have loads of fun.

Thanks a bunch!
That sounds better than what I always did in quarry holes...
I would just fill them with Railcraft Tanks, and have them mainly filled with lava (as lava power = only power in IC2, unless you have advanced solars)

Speaking of compact solars... any plans to add them? Or are they too powerful/OP/cheaty/all that?

Also, I kind of miss Modular Powersuits, though IC2 can do a lot of the same jobs with its armours, so I guess I could do without. Also, it seems like MPS isn't updated to 1.7.10... yet. Which makes me wonder... are there any mods you plan/wish to add to the pack, once they update?
Anyway, thanks again for the modpack! I've now found a lovely little birch forest to make my base in.

Compact solars? Who uses them when you have advanced solars?
HV solar arrays are nice.... but the top tier advanced solar produces more power, and also produces power when it's dark

Starting the game yesterday, I got all sorts of wonky "this mod is outdated, please update" messages upon startup. Does this mean a pack update is in order?

It does mean a new pack will be coming soon, but only once a certain mod or two is working with newer versions of Forge :)

I've been looking for a pure Tech pack, and this one seems the best I've found so far. However, I've gotten used to Ender IO as a main mod for cabling and such, I'm not sure I could play a pack without it.

Well there's nothing stopping you adding it into the pack yourself. However I would never add a mod that is as OP as EnderIO is *she says as she adds Morph in the next update*

I thought Morph was magic-oriented? I mean, unless you use some kind of Transmogrifier, morphing into animals doesn't sound very techy...

It's not very techy, but it's not magicy either as it is classed a a misc mod :p
However, the reason I add it is for one reason: Bat mode. Now I hate the thing, I don't like Morph in general. But a complaint some people have had is that they should be able to go through 1x1 spaces (bats) so they can lay wire, after knowing what they have placed looks good, etc.
And I have no issues with the latest version of Morph, in terms of the negative effects of being different mobs (Bat = lowered health, for example)

I like GregTech, but most people don't. If you look at any of the GT workarounds I have had to put into an older pack (The 95 Pack, just read the changelog) to make other admins (of a server team I am part of) happy... you can see just how much it is hated by many.... there are 5(ish) active people on that server, and I am the only one who like GregTech, everyone else complains every hour or so (at best).
Although I have no objections to adding IC2 (GregTech neither, but I hate the Bronze Age (I think it's a waste of time) so that would be skipable) I would first want to see if there is a better way of converting RF to EU (no power converters, I like people to use their preferred power gen method, but not use power converters to convert it) as the only way I know how, off the top of my head, it to use pneumaticcraft. (Kinetic Generator to turn RF (MJ) into pressure, and then the IC2 compat. item, which I forget the name of, to turn pressure into EU) reason I don't like this way, is it is VERY complex for those who have never used PC but would want to convert RF to EU (and maybe vice versa... I dunno about that yet)
extra utilities energy nodes transfer eu to rf, not tooo sure about the other way around
