Will this new update cause any issues with a already in-use world? I have been using 1.6.8 and don't want to update if it'll mess things up.

New chunks would generate ores in a different way unless you delete the files in config/cofh/world and download the default one from their site (like mentioned in the previous post), but it shouldn't mess up anything else!
But of course just to be save, make a backup first heh.

I've been having an interesting problem ever since i updated my server. about 70% of the time, for all players, they "Time out" when logging into the server.
I've got the server support people working on it to see if it's on their end, but it seems like more than coincidence that it started happening when I updated. I removed the old config, mods, scripts and libraries folders, uploaded the new version of said folders from 1.7.0 and that's all I did, problem seemed to occur almost immediately after starting the server back up after the update.

I've tried restarting the server, reinstalling MC and java on the clients, etc. Internet is ruled out, as on my Windows PC it has the problem, but my Linux PC on the same network does not. Sometimes people are able to load the game and connect just fine, next day the same player will be unable to get on for hours.

yes i had the same issue on my server. Turns out using forge 1558 on the client side actually fixed this. I didn't have to update the server at all for this.
Most of my server members are using MultiMC so it was pretty easy to update the forge version.
It's a bit more complicated when using the FTB launcher.

I'm not quite sure why this is happening, but newer forge version definitely seems to fix it.

Also, i JUST finished updating some more things, iot's currently uploading on my end so that i can send it to the FTB people for a review. That version will use a later forge version which should fix this problem!

Version 1.7.1 is out!

(If you are using MultiMC, make sure to use forge 1566 for this one)

A member of my server was using the inserter and the server crashed.
He made a filter to blacklist yellorium dust, and to test is he had to blacklist every dust he ran iron dust and pebbles through it. This caused the server to crash, and everytime the server loaded up that world, it would insta-crash.
Updating from 0.5.1 to 0.6.0-beta2 fixed the crash.

No problem. It was a bug with how the inserter interacted with in-game items when running on the newer version of forge. Beta version seems to work just fine, no errors or bugs that my server member has reported.
I love all the updates and such, I have 1 request and 1 bug to report.

For whatever reason, certain armors on players don't seem to be 'acting' properly.
The thaumcraft thaumium fortress and voidrobe armors and mekanism jetpack are a few examples, the model for the armor doesn't seem to rotate with the players character. Meaning if I turn sideways, the armor is still anchored to my character, but will appear to be on 'sideways'. IE: Jetpack ends up on my shoulder/chest instead of my back.

For the request - Have you heard of a thaumcraft addon called Tainted magic? I've been looking at it in videos and it seems pretty neat, was wondering if there was a chance you could test it out and see if it plays well with the modpack and if so if it can be included. Also, literally ANY other magic or factory related mods you're considering to add, I'd be happy to test them on a live server for you, as I myself love magic mods, and one of the more active members on my server loves factory stuff.

Also, if you ever want to pay me a visit, feel free to drop by my server: 69.195.134.63:25565 - I'll always have it running the latest SCSP version (I usually update it within a few hours of an update being posted). Yeah the smart moving mod causes the armor to desync. There is a Render Player API Enhancer which seems to fix this, will probably be in the next update.

I did hear of Tainted Magic, but it was still in early development when i did. The only problem with more Thaumcraft addons is that the Thauminomicon has no room left for additional tabs, so im not sure if it just wouldnt show up in the book or not. I might look into it.

EDIT: Actually i forgot i removed Technomancy at one point so there should be a slot left. I'll check out the mod.

Thanks for offering help! Definitely appreciated :) I don't really have a specific other mod in mind that i wanna try out, but i'm sure something will come up eventually!

I have a request from a user on my server to add in the mod "banners"
I've never even heard of it so I'll let you know if I run into any issues putting it on my server, then maybe you can add it to the modpack.
I want to try and keep what I'm running on my server as close as possible to the default modpack from FTB launcher, I know people get sick and tired of servers that run X modpack but you have to manually install 10 more mods and remove 5 others and crap like that lol.

Also, on the 5th i'm upgrading my server from 4gb to 7, and soon afterwards i'm going to advertise it on the FTB forums :D

Hello SeriousCreeper! Thanks for making this pack, has a lot of awesome mods that I wanted to play with. I recently created a server using 1.7.1. Any server related problems that I may have I will also report. And kudos for Galaxy!

I'll be working on an update very soon, was kinda busy trying out a 1.8 modpack (private one for a singleplayer series, but maybe if there is interest i'll try to publish it as well).

@Galaxy119 Can't find anything about this banners mod, only see one for 1.8. Does he have some more info about it or a link?

BTW guys i tried to look into fixing some of the armor not rotating with the character because of Smart Moving, but it seems like it's impossible to fix some (like the Thaumostatic Harness from Thaumcraft).

Sooo i guess i'll kinda have to decide if we should leave Smart Moving in but have weird models, or remove smart moving.

Any thoughts on this?

Update - It was the mekanism update causing the crash.
I removed version 8.1.8 and replaced it with 8.1.7 and the server started without issue.
Also I understood what you meant with journeymap and removed that from the server mods aswell.
Would recommend reverting back to mekanism 8.1.7 until we can determine exactly why it's causing a crash on the updated server. I'm going to attempt to connect to the server using the 8.1.8 on the client side to see if it will work, but I highly doubt it. Will edit this post when I have more..
