Ah, seems like the footsteps stop whenever I try to change the config from ingame. I feel like other sounds stop too, but I'm not sure which ones.

Hi, I'm having trouble with the sounds of IndustrialCraft2 not being played after installing DS. I really like the sounds that IC2 machines produce and I really like DS.
I've made several changes to the config, but none of them worked.
Disabling the DS, the sounds of the IC2 return to normal.
Any suggestion? Why is this happening?

I use FTB Infinity Envolved 2.6.0 on MC 1.7.10
DS version: 1.0.5.12

Hi! I'm trying to add auroras to Extreme Hills biomes but I'm not sure how to tell if the configuration has worked. I cannot seem to find the minecraft/forge generated logs the github page mentions, I only see the startup logs in my log folder and they don't have anything similar to what the Aurora page shows. However I do notice the debugger says isAuroraVisible = true in the area, does that mean that it is possible for an Aurora to spawn?

Hello. I have run into a slight issue when it comes to this mod and shader packs. Though how the problem occurs vary between shader packs, there always seem to be some sort of bug when I want to see the light level of blocks. I've tried turning various options on and off in an attemt to fix this, but to no avail. Mod version: 3.4.7.0 for Minecraft 1.12.1.

@OreCruncher Such an amazing mod. Thank you so much for all your work, and for keeping 1.7.10 up to date. I'm having an issue, though, with DynamicSurroundings-1.7.10-1.0.5.12. For some reason, now when there are storms, the custom skybox I'm using doesn't fade out, and I can still see the sun and skybox. I'm using OptiFine 1.8.0 HD U H8, Forge 10.13.4.1614, and the skybox from Halcyon Days.

I updated from DynamicSurroundings-1.7.10-1.0.5.6, where the skybox and sun fade correctly.

Dynamic Surroundings v3.4.9.12 for 1.10.2/1.11.x/1.12.2 has been released!

What's New
  • Sound Engine restart logic is a thing of the past. Added ASM developed by CreativeMD that patches the underlying sound engine of Minecraft to address the cause of the crash. As a side effect IC2 will be happy. :)
    • For 1.12.2 Forge versions 14.23.2.2635+ the sound engine patches are included. Dynamic Surroundings will only apply the patch for Forge versions prior.
  • Most effects are now 100% client side and do not require the mod to be on the server. And as a bonus mobs can have these effects too!
    • Footstep sounds and prints. Play/display for players and mobs such as Villagers, Illagers, Witches, Zombies, Skeletons, and more!
    • Item Swing/Bow Use sounds. Check out the skeletons with bows and zombies with swords. Nothing will get you jumping like a bow pull coming from the darkness. Well, maybe a creeper hiss is worse.
    • Player equip sounds. Will play for players nearby.
    • Entity Chat. You can see what they have to say without needing the server.
    • Damage Popoffs. Based on the amount of health change between ticks for an entity. Criticals are based on how much of a change occurs as compared to a percentage of the entities max health.
  • Reworked auroras:
    • No longer display at map edge. The aurora will display between cloud and sky height limits and stay relative to that spot when the player moves elevation.
    • If your computer system is capable of using shaders the aurora will be rendered using a shader.
    • Optimizations that improve rendering performance.
    • More compatibility with Shader Packs such as SEUS Renewed.
  • Reworked fog system - improves compatibility greatly! More options to enable/disable the various fog effects.
    • Works correctly with BoP biome fog.
    • Added Morning fog. Sets in at about 3AM and peaks at sunrise. Will eventually burn off.
    • Bedrock fog. This is the classic bedrock fog of old. (NO VOID PARTICLE EFFECT!)
    • Increased fog when raining. The amount of fog is based on the intensity of the storm.
  • Client side weather simulator! If the server does not have Dynamic Surroundings installed the client will generate rain intensity and display particle/rendering effects accordingly. Thunderstorms are also simulated.
  • Frost breath particle effects when in cold areas. This applies to other players and mobs as well
    • Goes well with with mods that add villages to cold biomes, such as Ice and Fire.
    • Takes into account season variation of Tough as Nails (1.10.2/1.11.2) and Serene Seasons (1.12.2).
  • Splash sounds when walking about in the rain.
  • Replaced the bow loose sound with a custom one.
  • Disable the critical particle effect of an arrow shot to minimize particle clutter in the display. (You can turn this ASM patching off in the config.)
  • Minecraft cave ambiance is back! Somehow along the way Mojang busted their implementation, so I rolled my own.
  • Mod support/compatibility updates: The Between Lands, Twilight Forest, Plants 2, Simply Tea, Gravel Ores, Soot, Ice and Fire, Dynamic Trees, Animania, Bamboozled, Chisel & Bits, Erebus, ToroQuest, Totemic, NetherEx, Defiled Lands, Embers, Chococraft, Geolosys, PrimalCore, Kitsu's ForgeCraft, Random Things, Actually Additions, EnderIO, Thaumcraft
  • Improved "out of box" footstep/footprint compatibility for modded blocks. Goal is to provide decent footstep/footprint effects for blocks without requiring specialized configuration files.
  • Improved performance of Light Level HUD rendering.
  • Option to blacklist dimensions so that biome sounds do not play. Useful for mods such as Advanced Rocketry that have dimensions for outer space.
Fixes
  • Works with Open Terrain Generator (OTG). Prior versions of Dynamic Surroundings did not detect when OTG changed biome definitions which resulted in lag, crashes, and other nastiness.
  • Dynamic Surroundings will honor Random Things Rain Shield when generating weather effects on the client.
  • NPE crashes reported via OpenEye. If you don't use OpenEye in your pack you should consider adding it.

1 - How do I block certain sound, not all group? E.g. I need to block sword swoosh.

2 - How do I turn of heartbeat sound? Cant find it in any group

Hi! really a great mod, thank for it.

We have a problem with the modpack space astronomy 2 : on planets, galacticraft should play one of its 5 own musics (ogg in the asset (jar mod)); but with DS, we only hear the standard Minecraft ones and it destroys the atmosphere...
To be sure, i've set up a game just with Minecraft, galacticraft, extraplanet and DS. Without DS it plays the galacticraft music on moon, with DS it's the vanilla Minecraft one.
Can't figure out how to change this by the config of DS.
If I simply could 'turn off' DS on planets with the dimension ID it would be enough for me.
I was thinking about just removing DS but it's annoying for the overworld…

any help would be appreciated !

Not sure why I don't get notifications. :\

DS replaces the music manager in Minecraft. I am not sure if GC replaces it as well to do it's music thing. If so DS could be stomping on it. Can you create an issue on the issue tracker? I will take a look at it.

So... I dont know where but does anyone know how to enable the "pickup" sound "blop" it makes when picking up items in the world?

Dynamic Surroundings does not do anything with that sound by default. Maybe the sound has been blocked? You can check that out in the config file or Individual Sound Configuration dialog in the mod settings.

What is the sound named as?

Its super weird since I get the "blop" sound a few times, but only once per minute or so, if I pick up anything

For 1.12.2 it is minecraft:entity.item.pickup. And if it occurs periodically it could be that it is being culled rather than blocked.

Trying to find the dsurround config, which I did but the individual sound is not in there, where is that located?
