you propably wont get any help involving xray on these forums instead you will most likely get trolls most people in the community don't really support xray if its for SSP try cheating in a quarry and use that untill you have the needed resources to build one than actually build a quarry and get...

you could also make a giant powerloop with 12 or so stacks of conductive pipes and make it look really cool ^.^

just use red alloy instead of redstone or just use redstoneor if you want to be really fancy use TiC drawbridges with a MFR rednet controller

Does anyone actually use them? i wad browsing through NEI and found weird looking drives which apparently if used correctly can clear out entire chunks and save them? Is there any real use for them or are they just a gimmicky item?

the fact that it was in there is enough you should never do that
