Is there a way to mine bedrock in the FTB monster pack? Reason being, I plan on doing some big stuff in the nether.

What can I plant them on? I tried planting them on fertilized dirt, stone, dirt, nothing worked. How do you farm these crystals?

I've heard stories of Ender IO items and machines producing lag when in a pack. That being said, I've noticed a bit of lag in my most recent world and my main cables just happen to be the conduits.
