The one thing that irks me is when I use to not know how uncorrupted worlds which I only found out 12 hours ago all those worlds lost

I had the same issue here is guide to fixing it http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Recover_corrupted_saved_world_data and if you have a world back up of the corrupt world use that instead of creating a new world to get the dat files
