Mapwriter creates a save folder just for its waypoints/other data. No reason Voxelmap couldn't do that.pretty much this. it makes sense to just put it in the saves folder
but I guess they'd do it like this because you also need to store the waypoints of multiplayer servers... but hard to save the waypoints for servers in a save folder that doesn't exist

thanks for your helptrue, but if you want to know something that doesn't even make more sense... the waypoints of zan's are saved in the mods folder, of both your modded minecraft and the .minecraft in your appdata folder
very annoying if you often restart your world under the same name and want to get rid of your waypoints
