    BTW; Dynamic Dynamos got updated

I patched it last year to work with the new dynamos, and corrected the model as well. Since the owner finally merged and published it recently, pack devs should be free to use it via curse as-is. https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/dynamic-dynamos

    void ore miner configuration

Actually even the default values are super low for everything that's added in, I ended up setting all of the crystals in all tiers to a weight of 16, which gives a much more sane 2.66-2.4%, vs your config of 0.18%... update; I actually set them to 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6 throughout, keeping it...

FTBLauncher 1.4.13 causes unplayable FPS lag

Finally got around to testing it and I can definitely confirm that setting java to run in win8 compatibility causes a 50+ times decrease in performance, the exact results differ slightly between doing it via the launcher (.13 vs .12) or doing it via windows directly but the end result is still a...

FTBLauncher 1.4.13 causes unplayable FPS lag

There's no known fix until we can confirm what it is specifically, so the only option for us is to stick with 1.4.12. If you download the linux version of the launcher that may still be on said version, of which if your java path is set you can simply double-click it like it were an...

FTBLauncher 1.4.13 causes unplayable FPS lag

Well you'll have to make the argument optional in the launcher and disabled by default as it can conflict with other systems, if a user needs it enabled then they'll have to do so by checking the box manually. Don't know how people would be playing modded minecraft on the old intel GPUs though...

FTBLauncher 1.4.13 causes unplayable FPS lag

RTM is a custom managed release that's only released to hardware manufacturers for driver compatibility, it's not a version that's meant to be released to the public and in many cases would be almost completely unusable without constantly using CLI. What for exactly? can you link me specific...

FTBLauncher 1.4.13 causes unplayable FPS lag

Doing this has no effect whatsoever, game still runs at 1fps... Chances are this argument is disabling all java VM enhanced ops (SSE, vector, etc instructions) and dynamic memory, forcing it to allocate the memory permanently and using 30+ times as much CPU time for the same tasks. Win 8 RTM...

Open Railcraft iron plates recipe conflict

Temporary workaround; if you have forestry you can use its worktable as it supports conflict cases such as this, of which is what I used to get the iron plates for the electric loco. Quite possible that at least one other mod also allows this, but that's a fair amount of tables to test in...

oh yea denseores and its example configs are worth a mention I guess; https://github.com/rwtema/DenseOres/blob/master/example_configs/denseores.cfg and 'Status Mods' down the bottom probably should be named more 'Maintenance/Debugging/Administration', unless you want to separate them to either...

extrabiomesXL but no mention of BiomesOPlenty? (which has the same options yes, as well as decorating vanilla biomes) Morpheus is a good one to mention for servers, it mainly allows time to switch to day on a certain percentage of sleepers instead of requiring everyone to sleep. Deathcounter...

    Aftermaket CPU cooler

I would say the noctua NH-D15, but you mention the coolermaster is 'too big for your case', what case you got? If you got a 120mm fan on the back or top of the case, you could look at a basic AIO cooler like the Antec Kuhler 650.
