What would YOU change about BuildCraft?

I have good news for you. This is completely do able in vanilla using a source water block and a pistion.

What would YOU change about BuildCraft?

If you only take joy in racing to the top then what do you do once you get there? That gameplay style may be suitable for short term worlds, but it leaves much to be desired over time.

This is fantastic. I don't suppose the warning is customisable ?

What would YOU change about BuildCraft?

Here are my recommendations. Background. In 1.6.4 I attempted to build a modpack centred around CJ's vision of Buildcraft. In the end, I decided to compromise and add TE to combat server lag. I disabled item ducts to force usage of buildcraft pipes, all while recommending players use te...

How does Cofhcore determine biomes when regenerating ore

Hello and good day. I would like to regenerate ores into my world within specific biomes using COFHcore. My concern is that my world's biomes are mapped differently than how my world seed would regenerate them (I'm using a save I successfully updated from 1.6.4). Would COFHcore's biome...

Why don't more mods put effort into surviving MC updates

What aren't you understanding here? I see and use mods that don't require world resets therefore I disprove the generalization that they don't exist. I did not call modders lazy, you did that on your own. However, I do admit to calling the action of responding with a generalization lazy...

Why don't more mods put effort into surviving MC updates

Why should I have to code in order to ask a genuine question? I see devs who put effort into making updates work and I see those who don't. I'm asking why more don't try; no coding experience required to question, just a brain. If it's because they lack the skill, motivation, time, effort, or...

Why don't more mods put effort into surviving MC updates

That's funny, I thought I just mentioned several big mods that do just that? No, I don't know anything about code but I do know that when a dev clearly states in a lets play video that they're going to try make updating work, and it does, that it's not impossible. I imagine it's very very...

Why don't more mods put effort into surviving MC updates

As I said, very complicated mods such as railcraft, forestry, buildcraft and the non changing parts of thaumcraft have been updated through several versions now. Blaming Mojang isn't fair. Forge for 1.6 wouldn't have warned us about mods that weren't registered to upgrade if nothing was...

Why don't more mods put effort into surviving MC updates

For all the praise the vocal community gives mods whose goal is efficiency, I find it somewhat sad nobody seems to care for the longevity of their worlds. I realize that a lot of you are direwolf styled power players but for the regular joes(and jills), constantly having to reset worlds isn't...

How does one effectively use Opis.

I have no idea how to make this tool help me. I'm constantly getting "server overloaded" messages but Opis claims I have a tick time of only 8. What exactly am I looking for and what do I do to improve performance. What do healthy timings look like? What should tile entity timings be around?

So at its core you see donations as a moral boosting signs of appreciation as oppose to dollar signs. I'm glad COFH sees donations as such. I'm quite confused by those who claim to either make their livings, or drop office hours due to mod donations.

I don't understand why you seem to be trying so hard to fight with me. No, she doesn't owe the community anything. What I'm saying is that given her history she doesn't yet deserve anything from the community either. Other modders who have actively participated in the community deserve donations.

I've always wondered, where do modders expenses come from? Is it total opportunity cost assumed in currency, the sum of utility expenses, or something else entirely.

Of course real life takes precedence but whatever happened to common courtesy. She could have sent a 30 sec tweet that said "Afraid I'm done with RP2 as life has picked up". Instead, she just disappeared for 1 1/2 years, re appeared then made a donation account. I stand by what I said, others...

I'm really excited to see what happens with Red Power, however, hearing she's already making so much in donations is rather sad. There are so many talented developers out there who have served the community during the past year and a half, providing us with fresh content. Eloraam just packed...

To be fair, Mojang will not have released a major minecraft version in close to a year by the time 1.8 comes out. Minecraft is a living community and I would never slow that down for a few hobbyists from one of its sector.

I don't believe forestry was open source at the time so I assume TE's version must be a modified version of Build-Crafts. Either way, unless facades are laggy then why not implement them. I believe AE2 still uses them.
