Steve's Carts Tree Farm - despawning cart

Since my cart has had both a canopy and torches between the saplings (to prevent mob spawn) I've had no more issues. It could well be a bunch of different things causing them to dissapear.

Steve's Carts Tree Farm - despawning cart

Personally I'm sticking with it. I've enough of a buffer in materials that I can replace the cart when it happens and it won't affect the systems down the line, and it's not that frequent an occurence at least for me. The ROI for a treefarm easily covers that cost.

The condition you wish to check is the result of calling turtle.place(), which returns true if it was able to place the block and false if not. To do specifically what you asked for this code will do it: if not turtle.place() then turtle.select(2) end ...but you'll likely want something a bit...

Steve's Carts Tree Farm - despawning cart

I played a bit this evening, then left the server for an hour and returned. I found my cart stuck in a wall two blocks away from the track, and flashing black like suffocating mobs do. I rescued it by destroying the wall then picking it up. Not sure what caused it, but doesn't look like...

    1. Use a cargo manager adjacent to an advanced detector rail. You'll probably want a cargo distributer too. The first few minutes of this video explains it. 2. No idea. I hear they've been nerfed recently by a lot, but not sure if that's just for heat based power.

Steve's Carts Tree Farm - despawning cart

I was 'struck' by this issue sometime last night. Nobody else has been on the server in that time. I've put a big glass viewer canopy over the top of the farm. Will report back if it goes missing again. It would be nice if there was some visual indication, like a smoking wreck or something.

Then you can't use solar power. Does lightning really have a greater chance to hit a cart?

You can see them both there in the image. Turns out that the only way to make the 'wrench' turtle is using a crescent hammer. :/

The only object in that inventory that I can craft with the turtle is something called the MFFS(Wrench) which gives me an MFFS turtle.

I suspected that was the case with NEI and I'm happy with that too, just that I did try with the crowbar and it's not letting me craft it. I was using the thread you linked as a guide in the first place. edit> just tried with a bronze wrench, that's not working either. Maybe I'm being dumb...

I'm trying to craft an Engineering turtle in Ultimate. Is this recipe disabled by default? First time I've tried to make one and it's not working. Doesn't show up in NEI either.

I'll be cheeky and ask three questions, but they're all about the same thing: I've just enchanted my first silk touch book and know that it will drop the block rather than the ore. I understand that certain blocks can be macerated or ground to produce more of that ore. What other benefits...

Part of the Power Converters mod in Ultimate. The energy bridge is the core block that you attach specific blocks tailored to the different types of power. These blocks are either inputs or outputs.

Any way I can remove an addon from a turtle? I stuck an enchanting table on my mining turtle instead of a chunk loader. Doh!

What do I do with Manganese Dust? NEI has no clue either. Google hasn't helped. (Ultimate Pack)

    Waypoints?

Ah, thought it was the usual complaint of voxel map not saving waypoints per dimension as rei's did.

    Waypoints?

    He means dimension.

    Gold?

Gold is always in short supply for me, it's pretty much the only thing I use rich slag on to get 3 ingots instead of 2.

    Water or Apple Juice

Adding apple juice into the mix is fun, but in my experience pretty pointless as saplings are by far the most abundant thing in the system, so there's no point in being more effecient with them. There never seem to be enough apples for juice. Apples are worth processing for mulch though, the...
