This actually sounds interesting. It would be great if it could block the sound of rain as well. I'd suggest going to the Thaumcraft thread and suggesting it there, as this seems to fit pretty well with that mod.

I also have this problem. Can't play for more than a few minutes before lagging so bad I have to ctrl-alt-delet out of the game. I've tried altering Java's memory parameters both in FTB advance tab and through Java VM itself. Doesn't make any difference.

Unless you have a steel industry already set up, each HP boiler will take over an hour and a half to build. And the point of boilers, either one, is to not need to constantly restart them, which is why, if you don't have infinite fuel, you go for the duel LP boilers, as it costs a lot less...

Ok, so at about 5.2 hours or so, a 36 LP boiler wins the efficiency race, and then stays in the lead till infinity? And at a bit over 8 hours, the 36 LP boiler makes more MJ per HU and keeps the lead on that as well till infinity?

For God's sake, you could have built a dozen new RP tunnel bores in the time you've had this thread open. Just build a new one, it'll be easier than finding your old one.

The 'only loads chunks around where it's first placed' was a railcraft bug. It's why chunk loaders sat out an update cycle. But they work now, and have for a while. Just look at DW20's videos, they use chickenchunk loaders for all their frame miners.

I did the same thing. Built it to have 4 miners with the top card, and would methodically move and mine out about a nearly 2x2 chunk worth of ore each time.

It's not going to be useful until it can actually change the biome. Right now, all it does is replace blocks. Good for aesthetics, not so good for functionality.
