Not sure I follow. Using dyes on the wool pads on top of an ender chest will change the color configuration and therefor the inventory contents. To share an inventory make sure the color code on top is the same on each ender chest you want to share with.

You can make sand (and therefor glass) in a pulverizer. You can feed it to recyclers to make scrap for mass fabricators. You can melt it into lava to power geothermals, magmagic engines, railcraft steam boiler, etc. That's just off the top of my head.

Of course you shouldn't be doing that. The point of this thread was referencing the balance aspect, hence the word "balance" in the topic title. The only reason I did the conversion was for comparison reasons. Still, mod developers have not always been ignorant to balancing between other mods...

Sorry, I just realized I was doing that on my 1.4.5 server. Gates will not work with any TE energy machinery in the 1.4.2 version. The 1.4.5 version has fixed this issue.

You need to place the zip archive in MODPACKNAME/instMods where the MinecraftForge.zip archive is located. Then make sure you actually restart Minecraft to see the effects. Also, make sure you're using the 1.4.2 version and don't use the multi-core feature.
