IC2's EUs aren't attempting to model electricity in any real form. People refer to 'voltage' and 'current', but the concepts don't really map very well. UE's power is substantially different in this regard. Personally, I feel EU is a more "minecrafty" power system. Anything in the direction of...

Ah, I understand now. That is unfortunate... There's workarounds to address things like that, at least, such as the LPer using a local hosts entry. I do agree that seems like a thing that should be corrected in the mod, though.

What is this intended to mean? It almost sounds like you're voicing a concern about the clients having access to the server IP, but server IPs can't be secret to the clients; the internet doesn't work that way, so I have to assume you mean something else.

Further commentary on the voxel map: It's adequate for basic usage (seeing surface terrain), and I presume it's usable for mob location display (I don't use this feature, so I can't criticise it), but I'm finding it inferior to Rei's Minimap for a lot of the things I do. In particular, its...

I kind of agree with DoctorOr here. FTB packs have always been inexplicably sluggish on my computer, the Voxel stuff greatly exacerbates this. ... and it's ugly, too. Offtopic complaint: I really wish there was some kind of unified in-game config stuff, so that settings/controls wouldn't be...

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

Yeah, try asking them for a server-side option to disable "lossy" wrenching and you'll get basically the same kind of reaction. It's really unfortunate.

    Need more Mj storage.

... Yeah, that seems pretty improbable. Maybe instead of the railcraft folks, you should ask soaryn instead.

    Elooram's back.

Yeah, being in single player isn't really a protection against problems like this anymore, since they use the same client/server architecture whether you're playing online or not.

    Need more Mj storage.

Another thought is that in addition to using lava as power storage it can double as a really awesome light source. (yes, that pile of portable tanks in the corner is weird. Yes, there are reasons for it.)

    Elooram's back.

Marble gets along even LESS well with mystcraft. :( Even now, marble generation can bring a server to its knees if an age generates with a lot of bare stone, and the mystcraft dev has no real way of preventing this.

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

For me, it's kind of a tough call. I like IC2. I like the EU system it uses (it feels more "Minecrafty" to me than the universal electricity stuff some people prefer), and the general style of the way machines are designed pleases me in some difficult-to-explain fashion. And I also kind of like...

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

Yes, but only out to a certain distance. At some point, they're just casting light, right? If you can get the spacing right, it might still work in some contexts.

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

When you deploy the term "mathematical certainty" in the context of what someone will get from their breeding attempts, it gives a rather different indication. When it comes to this kind of item, the results of probability only begin approaching "certainty" at sample sizes well outside the...

New Forestry 2.0 Farm Blocks aare a PITA

Immibis' Microblocks mod (which I found, like, an hour ago) works on liquiduct, purportedly. It's still buggy (particularly with IC2 wires) and new-ish, but considering what it's providing as a general flexibility analog to redpower's microblocks, I think it's fantastic. mm. I know where...

"Hi! I am highly allergic to peanuts, and would like to make some delicious toast." "Have you tried putting peanut butter on toast? Mmm!"

That would be the automation end of things that also wasn't going well for me. I'm not in a position to implement all that.

It's GregTech, Jim... but not as we know it

This does not work; it was the first thing I tried. It seems like it SHOULD, since you can use liquid transposers to interact bidirectionally with nitro-diesel cells, but until noskk's post the only way I could find to produce diesel cells was the squeezer (and this is actually the only...

'Easy' is not synonymous with 'cheap'. Chrome needs a lot more ruby dust than I can field at the moment, and I'm not sure I have enough platinum. I'll get there, but I can make a railcraft iron tank now. So that's a valid solution.

You're my hero. <3 I can't afford a quantum tank yet, but a railcraft tank is totally on the table.

It's GregTech, Jim... but not as we know it

Huh. That was unexpected. Thanks for the tip. Alright, since I'm learning new things: Is there a way of getting diesel cells that doesn't involve destroying tin or wax containers in a squeezer?
