Are peat bogs only supposed to generate one layer?

Agreed on the second point, but I disagree with the first point. A steve's carts woodcutter is cheaper to build infastructure-wise and doesn't require any inputs once it gets going. Also, it is currently more efficient to run wood through a sawmill than it is to turn it into charcoal.

    Etho's FTB LP

You misunderstand me. No-one used fillers at all. They didn't use them for anything, including their intended purpose. Most people don't have a need to fill in large rectangular areas, and by the time people have any need to clear large areas they would use a quarry, as most people can't stand...

BC conductive pipe overflow or something? (Direwolf20 modpack)

Flat 5% total, versus 0.5% per block with gold pipes.

    Etho's FTB LP

Having run a server, I experimented with that setting once, and found that when fillers didn't drop blocks, no-one used fillers.

Umm...okay, WOW. (BC conductive pipes + Magma Engines)

There was a recent change in BC instigated by TE power conduits. Conductive pipes no longer silently drop any excess power - they store it up to a point, and then explode. That just means that you have more power production than usage.

I was wondering about that. Thanks for the confirmation!

    New Mod Pack Added

It didn't have the portal gun mod initially. However, it was recently added in one of the updates.

BC conductive pipe overflow or something? (Direwolf20 modpack)

Actually, they often are more lossy. They lose a flat 5%. BC golden pipes lose 0.5% per pipe. Also, watch out. If you have RE conduit -> Energy cell -> conduit the losses stack (0.95*0.95=0.9025)

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

It's much easier. By comparison, I have a ~21x21 (+ machinery) creative-mode wood farm that produces a relatively constant 100eu/t.

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

You're going about that entirely the wrong route IMHO. Steves carts woodcutter (running on planks as per your requirements) -> sawmill -> generators + hobbyist's steam engines to power sawmill.

    Sorting system comparisons

First thought -that's a good design! Second thought - expensive though, and uses resources over time, not just initially. Third thought - Can't pull items from the network easily on demand, unlike log pipes. I might do something similar as a hybrid design - an ender chest for each group of log...

    Sorting system comparisons

Default route looping back to the start doesn't do what LogPipes does. With LogPipes if there isn't a route it will stay in the chest. With that method it will constantly loop around in the pipes.

    Netherrack to lava loop (Direwolf20)

Which means that people will just switch to using Iron Engines + aqueous accumulators. They produce 20,000 MJ / lava bucket (At 1MJ/t instead of 2 though, and more expensive). Unless that gets nerfed also then nerfing magmatic engines won't make (much of) a difference.

    Invtweaks blues :(

Unfortunately, I believe that the delay is unavoidable. The delay is the server round trip latency time, not bad coding.

[Question] Will the MineCrack pack include Mystcraft?

The current version of the MineCrack pack includes a version of Forge that's incompatible with Mystcraft.

Anyone? 124 views and no replies is disheartening...

    FTB Mindcrack Pack Ore Heights

Nope. You can technically do anything that you can normally do in vanilla without a pickaxe. Mining? Creepers / TNT. Obsidian? Cast it. Etc.

    Railcraft Steam Turbines

I just did a comparison of odd ways to generate IC2 energy, and came upon something interesting. One turbine costs 248 steel. The amount of boiler required for one steam turbine is 18 m^3 of HP tank, or 43 steel. One turbine rotor produces 100eu/t for 41 hrs, with a cost of 99 steel. (Can...
