    Change it yourself? It aint that hard really! 1. Download AM 1.1.1b 2. Drop in /mods 3. Disable the older one (either manual rename or use Launchers "Edit" option)(can delete too if you want) 4. Profit! I've done it and works fine...

    Your wifes laptop HAS integrated chip (every Intel based one have one on chipset), so there is nothing special there. Of course you need to tell programs to use the NVIDIA one if needed, cause not all know how to request it from OS (like Minecraft).

    Or patience to plant and break beans until you get the ones you need. Its allways random bean when you break it, even freshly planted. Dunno if this is bug or not? Could make turtles do it automatically for example ;)

    Accelerate farms without fertilizer.

    Try putting few sprinkles somewhere flat area and let them run, come back and collect flowers (also Ars Magica special flowers), clear with sickle and repeat. There is random chance of adding bonemeal effect, thus insta grass/flowers. Easy way to get dyes too :p

    Is your client set as recomended version and not forced on exact version? Ive seen this mistake few times...

    Still it doesn't explain how my Atom D550 (1.6Ghz) can run the server and i5 cant. Atom is low powered, low end processor, and i5 beats it in every possible way... Do you use Windows as server btw? I use Debian Linux on my box :)

    Quite odd, cause Im running Unleashed server with 2 people playing without any problems on Atom D550 and 4 gig of RAM, so i5 should be more than enough imo!

    Does your server have at least 6 gig memory? Are you running 64bit OS and Java? What about the processor of your server?

    Correct, Optifine and Gregtech together is the problem in current mod packs. If you were to disable or upgrade Gregtech, it would work fine.

    Not much help how many cores you have, since Minecraft can use only one. Generating new chunks is very CPU heavy and you will never get rid off it. Either use a mod to pre-generate reasonable area before letting people in or deal with the lag...

    Hosting private server

    I bet your biggest bottleneck is that 2.5" drive, most of them are slow 5400rpm too. And the server GUI is heavy to run, add "noGui" at the end of the server start command to disable it.

    This problem is brought by Gregtech, its fixed in newest beta release. So either ask the server admin (and thus all players) to manually update it or wait few weeks for official FTB modpack update. Or dont use Optifine.

    Fix is to update Gregtech manually if it bothers you so much :) Of course in SMP server, its more hassle if there is lotsa players, until Ultimate pack is updated by FTB...

    Mmorton89 is right, SHUTOFF the server/client first before editing configs. That is your problem...

    IC2 Power Suggestions

    36LP boiler or 10 Generators, which is resource wise easier (same 100EU/t output)and how about running costs in the long run? Trying to think different ways to produce energy than boring solars in the beginning of a new map.

    I think I will add AE to my DW20 private server now, after reading so many comments about it and after checking DW20's Mod spotlight on it. Seems quite interesting mod and highly optimized to store huge amounts of stuff.

    Is you client/server running when you try to delete? You need to shutdown it first...
