It was definitely the supercondensators preventing energy output. I thought the set ups I've been seeing without super condensators were older versions of gregtech, so tested it in creative SP and it charges perfectly without them, exact same set up otherwise. Thanks for the assistance!

I feel that all of the things that FTB's mods add just make a game that already isn't particularly challenging even easier. There is no real progression of difficulty. Forcicium is useful for the MFFS mod, its what powers your forcefields. If I'm understanding you correctly, mobs killed that spawn from a soul cage spawner do not contribute towards the souls on a soul shard.
