You don't need to keep the hydration at 100% you just need to keep it high, and the ship is made of metal and will get you very hot very fast, you'd be better off outside. Also once you start making dirt you can mix that with a glass bottle to get dirty water.

Well if you haven't already why not set up everything that you can with AE so you can craft anything you might want\need without much work, and there is also MFR that can be used to get just about anything you want done in fun ways, but over all I'd say just build and fill things in where you...

If you set up steam with railcraft then you will never need to change the power off of steam. just build your way up and you could always do bio fuel as a side thing.
