    Easier ways of killing wither

I've seen a youtube video where someone built a case with dirt (one layer thick) and water on top. inside, there is the wither-form, with 1 head missing. after the casing and the watersetup is done, the player adds the last skull, and the wither forms. the wither starts with his explosion...

Most Powerful energy source there is?

I'm running the 420 EU/t system. it might be imbalanced regarding the thorium use, but on the other hand: thorium can be aquired through coal ore and monazit ore too. and coal ore just turns thorium into something that can be harvested very easy. 4 coal ore = 1 thorium cell... what else do you...

Most efficient and most cheap way to transporting EU over massive distances?

I'd say: load energy crystals/lapotron crystals and send them through an item tesseract. cheap, very fast, no maximum distance, works even interdimensionally.

    gregtech pump

it's basically the IC2 miner. it requires those mining pipes, like the IC2 miner. but since it has no interface, you need to put them into it through the top of the block. I don't know, maybe clicking on it with a pipe, or sending it in through buildcraft item pipes...

    Factorization and GregTech

I think, greg optimizes everything for his own transportsystem. this means, you need to take a closer look at these translocators. applied energistics should work too. regarding those cells, I'd set up an igneous extruder feeding a magma crucible, feeding a bunch of industrial centrifuges...

    Efficient EU Production?

I know, it rewards people who go for renewable. setting up a forestry or steves carts farm (doesn't matter if it's wood or wheat or whatever, or even bee breeding... but it also takes the fun of it. you could sit next to a wood farm and watch it forever, not intervening ever again. it would...

Most Powerful energy source there is?

but what's with fortune? doubling the piece of ore in the first place is a nice extra... normal uranium can't be mined with fortune pickaxe. and I know what nether ores are doing... although it has been nerved compared to what I knew from tekkit. or is there something special with nether...

Most Powerful energy source there is?

smelting = 1 uranium ore block = 2 uranium dust + 2 small heaps of plutonium dust (in the grinder) macerator = 4 uranium dust pulverizer = 4 uranium dust + 10% chance for plutonium dust grinder = 4 uranium dust + 2 small heaps of plutonium dust induction smelter = 2 uranium ore block induction...

Most Powerful energy source there is?

I'd say the most powerful single block source that can be found (in FTB ultimate) is the nether uranium ore block. after smelting it in the induction smelter together with rich slag, it gives 3 regular uranium ore blocks, this in the grinder give 1,5 heaps of plutonium and 6 heaps of uranium...

The Final Word on Steam Boiler Efficiency

I hope that they fix that loop. I'm not going to exploit it (I have plenty of oil wells near my base, and I want to play just with non renewable energy... I think it's part of the fun, that energy sources need to be explored) but even the option of producing oil out of nuclear energy is...

The Final Word on Steam Boiler Efficiency

@omicron: a question regarding the oil fabricator that was added with minefactory reloaded (is it just ultimate, or even the other modpacks?) this machine produces one bucket of oil for 600.000 MJ or 1.500.000 EU. since it was balanced against combustion engines, which give (according to the...

    Efficient EU Production?

with gregtech, nuclear is really an option. one of the best setups I encountered so far is this one: http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/v3/reactorplanner.html?a8h89efdkdldsmeihrrt41z3cfg8onfyl9vtyat23qsucdxz1l07xnymxri6ukkymwz5of0pzzcyqrk 2 plutoniumcells receive 16 neutron pulses...

    Gregtech Quarry

take a closer look at the ic2-miner with the proper upgrades. it's more or less the 9x9 quarry, but it does not give you these ridiculous amounts of cobblestone. in my first game I powered such a miner with a thorium based nuclear reactor. just the reactor without additional chambers, 2...

Difference Between FTB Mindcrack and FTB Ultimate

the only missing mod is traincraft. if you can live with the situation, that you can't obtain oilsand for centrifuging it... then it's okay.

Efficient and Safe Nuclear Reactor Setup?

the wonderful part in this setup is, that those quad-thorium cells are way better than the iridium neutron reflectors, and much cheaper. thorium is virtually abundand. coal-ore and monazit ore give plenty of thorium, and the breeding process delivers a lot of thorium too (centrifuge the...

    Applied Energistics

@daemonblue: du you mean just pumping the items through the tesseract, or is there a way to actually send the disc, which would be much faster (since it's just one item).

    Attention Doctor Who fans!

a few days ago, someone showed that pocket dimensions mod. it's a door that stands around in the landscape, and by going through it, you are in a black pocket with the size 3x3 chunks. 2 way doors to go in and out, additional doors possible to go to deeper dimensions. several 9 chunk-worlds...

    Mystcraft oil page?? :)

on titan (the saturn moon) there is a sea full of methane and ethane. and the pressure is approximately 1.5 bar. so nothing that would crush you. but the temperature is at -180°C. it's slightly too cold for running around naked... although there is no reason why a quantum suit shouldn't keep you...

    Mystcraft oil page?? :)

or the modders should decide themselves if their liquid should be available through mystcraft. an eternal lavasea isn't really gamebreaking, but a sea of liquid beryllium for gregtech or a sea of buildcraft-fuel is gamebreaking... and a sea of helium, methane or hydrogen is just ridiculous...

    burned out, help?

I can fully understand the threadstarter. I guess the problem is, that you looked at the techtree and built all the nice things that give ressources for free. set up a treefarm + biomass producer... no energyproblems at any time again. so in my world, I don't mess around with renewable energy...
