    Any Victorian/Steampunk or Medieval style cities?

    we're still talking airships, brass pipes, top hats, monocles, and flywheel powered mechanical cogitators yeah? :D oooh RP2 windmills may be perfect.

    Any Victorian/Steampunk or Medieval style cities?

    mmm red power tubes running everywhere along side steam liquiducts and railcraft transport carts. Use a steves cart to navigate the base. hide all machines behind relays in the walls with RP2 iron cage lamps illuminating cozy forestry woodworked studies, dining rooms and workshops. Candles...

    favorite buildcraft starting power source?

    that's the rub yeah, all renewables require infrastructure to get going (especially if you use the mindcrack pack). The simplest you could get off the bat is charcoal followed shortly by peat. Any hands-off renewable approach will cost diamonds in some way or another.

    favorite buildcraft starting power source?

    errm zooqoo - stirling engines output 1 MJ/t while HSE outputs 1.6 on its internal and 2 on external steam. 4 combustion engines can be cooled from 1 aqueous accumulator with 2 source blocks next to it.

    Anti-Mob Solutions in the Mindcrack Pack

    make yourself a 1x2x1 hidey closet for afking? :D or a piston controlled lava cage? piston suffocation hallway? portal turrets would be nice and cheap :D mffs already suggested... dispensers full of arrows to make a flaming death wall?

    The worst spawn you have had?

    hmm... bonus chest won't work on this spawn because of the massive ocean. However if you give yourself a sapling, a wooden pickaxe, and a torch - you can survive and grow by descending into the oil fountain and living in the almost bedrock layer cave inside. You'll need to clear out the dirt by...

    favorite buildcraft starting power source?

    play vanilla a bit until you find a few diamonds - you can use hobbyist steam engines to power ore doubling for you while you collect basic materials. when I started my latest world, I used hobbyist steam engines to get ore doubling quickly, and then transitioned into red power windmills. It...

    silver ore in mindcrack

    thaumcraft transmutation and rich slag should get you enough silver to do the mirrors. dunno what else you need it for in factorization (at least in those quantities)

    Tips?

    hehe, it is not a mass fabricator in the sense that it produces things in bulk quantities it is a mass fabricator in the sense that it fabricates mass from nothing.

    TE 2.2.0: No more Niter->Saltpeter

    other possible setups run the boiler on seed oil squeezed from a few steve's carts wheat farms. run the boiler on nether pumped or nethersmelted lava. run the boiler on steves cart'd charcoal. turn the boiler off <cooling time> hours before you think you're going to log off for at least...

    TE 2.2.0: No more Niter->Saltpeter

    according to dw20, apatite will no longer spawn in little 2-4 crystal specks across the map. It will spawn in relatively rare but huge apatite veins, and each ore will drop 1 to 4 apatite crystals (like redstone,nikolite, etc) I'm assuming you can fortune the apatite for even more - i'm also...

    Tips?

    it creates UU-matter out of several million EU. UU matter comes with crap tons of crafting recipes, you can make almost anything out of it (water, iron, slime, wool, grass, etc) but its most popular application is Iridium, which is required for the quantum suit and other highly advanced things.

    Tips?

    There is a config file to put in a vanilla-ish recipe into railcraft, maybe someone else can elaborate more. remember that once you have a rolling machine in railcraft, you can make your tracks out of bronze, iron or steel. The recipe has actually changed from vanilla so that if you use steel...

    Mechanic Face Heel Turn

    So there are a lot of different ways to play FTB and a lot of game mechanics that appeal to a wide variety of players. Opinions on those mechanics also change as well. What game mechanics did you hate when you started out, but came to love after you'd played for a while. Alternatively, what...

    Tips?

    try to get a peat bog up as soon as possible, never burn coal for fuel again :D if you're wondering what you should burn your peat in, I hear that steam boilers are fairly efficient. Steves carts also take peat instead of coal, as do turtles.

    Automating Electrical Engines?

    my mistake. I was assuming that electrical engines worked like other non-TE engines with explosions once they fill their buffer.

    Tips?

    :D tips: 1) dig into side of a hill to start. make indoor corn farm - corn = most lovely indeed. Cook the cobs to get a nice food source, cook the spare seeds to make popcorn. 2) first goal is a little tin, copper, iron, gold, and redstone. With these materials make 1 aqueous accumulator and 2...

    Automating Electrical Engines?

    hmm. 6 windmills, between 1 and 5 eu per tick depending on wind and on height. from y = 149 to y = 66 = minimum 83 wires required, energy loss would be 2 eu per packet so your output will be between 0 and 3 eu/tick depending on wind and height. base is currently wired correctly in latest...

    Not able to make the wand of the adept?

    I know that the largest node in a loaded area will supply the smaller nodes as needed, then when it needs to recharge, will use infused stone (make it dull) for either 40 or 100 vis (not sure) I thought that I read somewhere that there needed to be 100 extra vis in the environment to re-infuse...
