Is the silver ore gen turned down in mindcrack because of another mod? Redpower uses a lot of this, so just wondering if it's going to be more difficult to make my blutricity stuff.

Can't speak for everyone, but I have plenty of it... not as much as in the FTB Beta (that was crazy at times), but still more than enough.

If you're not finding enough silver ore, try digging elsewhere... it doesn't spawn at diamond level. ;)

I think it uses silver from some mod other than Factorization (possibly GregTech or RP2.)

Galina ore is off, yes. I'm not having trouble with silver, but if you're using the Induction smelter to routinely process your ore, you should have plenty of rich slag, which you can use to boost any ore you're running short on.

The silver is from Thermal Expansion, which allows the FTB config to set how much of it spawns.

I use the silver mostly for electrum, a little for redpower, but haven't touched the silver part of factorisation yet

Is the galina ore turned off in that one? Those huge "mega deposits" are so big that just one is all you'd need, if you remember to slag furnace it.

Factorization silver is in fact named as silver, so the dictionary equates it all the same and FTB turned it off.

If factorization renamed to Galena, and removed the dictionary equality, we'd probably be swimming in it. And as a side effect, would required the factorization machines to process at anything higher than 1:1 smelting level.

FTB as it stands, if somebody doesn't do anything with factorization they'll have just silly amounts of silver extra, and if they're heavily into it with several solar mirror setups, they'll be scrounging every last silver ingot.

Interestingly GregTech renamed their spawns to "Silverlead ore", which is kinda sad for a somewhat scientific mod.

thaumcraft transmutation and rich slag should get you enough silver to do the mirrors. dunno what else you need it for in factorization (at least in those quantities)
