    Big Reactor ... Reactors

I could live with that sort of meltdown mechanic.

    Big Reactor ... Reactors

I think it more likely that this author noticed that the biggest complaint about IC2 is the derpy idea that everything wrongly touched should break or explode.

    Big Reactor ... Reactors

Because I didn't write them :D Yeah that would be cool. And you could build a containment room with water/lead/other materials, or take radiation damage.

    Big Reactor ... Reactors

So do I, but that doesn't include explosions for me. I find them "silly", as you apparently find the lack of them "silly".

Will this hardware handle Monster well?

I can sneak $250 or so by her, and I'd want more RAM so that pretty much covers it. I don't see an SSD as being very helpful anyway. I don't notice much drive access going on with the servers as is, and with 8GB ram used solely for the OS and Minecraft, it shouldn't need to be moving data...

Will this hardware handle Monster well?

The server would host 3-4 players at a time, and huge tech/machine/automation builds would not be that common. Not going to add an SSD; this won't fly past the wife if I don't keep the price so low that she just doesn't notice it :D

Will this hardware handle Monster well?

My kids and their friends often connect to minecraft servers (FTB, Tekkit, and vanilla as the mood strikes them) on my home network, and I want a dedicated machine for this purpose rather than running it on a PC that is also running an FTB client. I want to spend as little as possible, but I...

    Big Reactor ... Reactors

A nuclear reactor that doesn't require water/heat transfer to a steam turbine for power is what's silly. IRL (if that's your benchmark for wanting explosions), nuclear plants really don't blow up very often. Fukushima required a massive earthquake and tsunami (haven't seen those in MC yet), and...

Lets See Some Bases! Give Us a Tour!

A few pics of the castle/fortress area I'm building. I haven't done much inside the base, just a dozen TE machines and a tree>>charcoal farm, plus a small AE system so I don't go crazy. So this is just the fluff I guess... I built this gatehouse in a similar style to the RogueLike Dungeon...

What marks a mod/item as "OP" or "Unbalanced"?

    Lily pads are OP.

    Big Reactor ... Reactors

Wouldn't a steam boiler just need a cluster of connected fluiducts reduced to a single line and run to the turbine?

    Big Reactor ... Reactors

What is annoying about moving steam from a Big Reactor to the turbine?

Thermal Expansion 3.0!!! No More Beta! Thanks KL!

You should post crash logs to pastebin anyway, then you can just post/give that link where ever it is needed.

    Big Reactor ... Reactors

The temperature of your reactor directly affects fuel efficiency. I think you want to try to keep the temp down below 300C for best efficiency. So if you make a large reactor that burns at 800C, you push the rods in 60-80% or whatever, and get the temp down. /edit: this does reduce the power...

    Unsupported Monster 1.6.4 Bug Reports

Some experimentation revealed this is purely a loaded/unloaded chunk boundary issue. If a line of itemducts crosses a chunk boundry and one chunk unloads, the still loaded ducts become glitched until they are broken and replaced. The source of my logs was on the unloaded side of the boundary...

What is the point of steam boilers now?

How so? Steam Dynamos put out 80RF/t per engine and you can put 18 on a HP boiler. RF/10 = MJ so how are they less efficient?
