    Direwolf20 1.7.10 released

I had similar issues. Fastcraft helps a lot, and at first, I thought maybe JourneyMap was my issue, but for me, it appears the culprit was Aroma Backup. I disabled it, and Aroma Core, and it seems to have helped a lot. Basically I'd be fine for the first bit of time until Aroma Backup would...

    1.7.10 Alpha Packs

Try EnderIO ducts to replace the TE ones. They're nice because they can take up the same block space with one another. Also, the same duct can extract and insert items/liquid/energy depending on how you configure them. EDIT: I haven't seen the list of mods in the pack, so I'm making an...

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

They probably have a plan...in general, sure. But one that's specific enough to share publicly? No.

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

You want them to have a fully fleshed out plan (for public consumption) on day one? That's not very realistic.

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

Right. If there was a reasonable price on a dev license, I don't think that'd be the worst possible outcome.

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

imagine a world where there was an actual mod api built into the game, that wouldn't require some modder to deobfuscate code each version update.

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

Maybe...I could see a one time charge for a modding devkit or something. Obviously, this is all total speculation...but I think we can say safely that $27 for Minecraft 2 and all future content is probably not the way it will go.

Vanilla players would. Modding community, probably not.

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

My guess is they'll continue to support this game, and modding will still be fine...but I fully expect Minecraft 2 to come, and for it to be in C#, cost $60, and for it to have DLC. No idea what level of modding would be supported in a sequel, but I don't see them making changes to original MC...

    Opinions on Microsoft buying Mojang

Making the very large presumption that they plan to continue to allow/support modding, I think this is potentially a great thing. So much knee-jerk reactionary stuff going on.

    More 1.7.10 Updates

But you're using something you know that isn't comparable. You can't use the business model of a completely different industry to compare to the timeline of a group of hobbyists doing something for recreation. It's just not fair. They just aren't similar.

    More 1.7.10 Updates

I'm sure other people are better equipped to more fully answer your question, but a few points: 1) Comparing it to your construction business is a bad comparison. I assume your construction business makes money. FTB is a hobby for these folks. Yes, they might get some money from Patreon, or...

    The Update to 1.8

Wait, if you're skipping a version, which are you talking about? 1.7.10 or 1.8? The thread is about 1.8...so if you move straight to that, you've already skipped a version.

    More 1.7.10 Updates

I got so used to playing with the Mysterious Magnet I got early on in a reward bag, that when I went to play a new pack, I didn't understand why all the loot was just sitting there on the floor.

    Automated Steam Boiler (Solid Fuel)

I'm not playing Monster, but I believe this setup should still work. Take wood harvested by whatever means and put it into a jabba barrel upgraded to whatever appropriate size, with a void upgrade to prevent overfilling. Your choices from there to have the wood from the barrel to go to the...

    The Update to 1.8

I'm thrilled. I'm excited to play 1.8 modded minecraft with the new performance updates to vanilla. I know that's still a ways off, but It's worth losing the 1.7 dev time, imo.
