    Gregtech-centric progression advice?

Try the computer cube or a creative world. Both are good ways of testing a nuclear setup. As for nukes, we just make a few, make a trophy room for them and then use them as weapons to beat up endermen.

How do YOU power your quarry?

I do it the easy way. Have a row of 10-20 blulectric engines or 10MJ/t electrical engines all flowing into a tesseract (and other things of course.) That way the quarry just looks like the latest ink printer on a 64x64 area.

    Gregtech-centric progression advice?

It's hardly "High risk, high reward" if you set it up properly. You can easily set it up so that when it gets too hot, it automatically turns itself off. I don't blame you for quitting though. I probably would have been in the "don't want to play any more" mood for a day or so if that happened...

    Help with solar stuff!

Use gates. They alone can stop a combustion engine from overheating (and they attach to buildcraft pipes. So they'd use up no space!) Just set it so that when water is flowing through the pipe, it gives off a redstone signal. That way the engine will only work when it's got water being pumped...

    Getting Trough Early-Game?

Normally I'm not too bothered about mining, but then again I also have music on to numb my mind from any boredom. Though if you want early game machines to assist you, I'd recommend the following: Pulverizer from Thermal Expansion (double ALL the ores! ) Some form of better furnace (Iron...

    Gregtech-centric progression advice?

When I start off in IC2/GT, I get an MFE, LV transformer and a generator. For now, I'll run it off of coal coke from TrainCraft's coke oven (quadruples the EU coal would give and also gives a little extra gift for later on.) Also, yes. You can build an MFE right off the bat. 8 refined iron, 4...

[Poll] Do you prefer TE or IC2? Why?

Exactly. An IDSU is portable power. It's like the EU version of a tesseract that holds 1Billion EU (Too bad it can only output 2kEU/t though.)

[Poll] Do you prefer TE or IC2? Why?

Also, for those asking for a portable recharge unit, Have you ever considered keeping an AESU and a fully charged Lapatronic Energyorb? It's like carrying an MFSU with you at all times! Either that or just keep an IDSU with you like I have done on my complete world. Just be sure to keep a...

[Poll] Do you prefer TE or IC2? Why?

Really? They already require diamonds and ender pearls to make. Both of which aren't exactly everywhere in the world. By the time you can automate these two things, you're pretty far in anyway.

[Poll] Do you prefer TE or IC2? Why?

No love for Railcraft? Coke ovens are a godsend at the start and you can collect the materials for one before you even make a house. With a semifluid generator they can even provide you with an early start on EU production too (1 coal = essentially 4 coal and 1.5k EU for free as coal coke burns...

[Poll] Do you prefer TE or IC2? Why?

I was thinking more on the exploding side. But it's useful to point out. As far as I know only buildcraft conductive pipes can explode from too much MJ.

[Poll] Do you prefer TE or IC2? Why?

MJ machines have no max intake. Just a max storage. The whole max EU thing I reckon is there for realism. try hooking your computer up to a lightning rod and see how well it does when it receives the power from a lightning strike. Still, the EU intake is VERY easy to handle as there are multiple...

[Poll] Do you prefer TE or IC2? Why?

They can output into buildcraft pipes though even without an engine. I hardly ever use RP tubes unless I need to.

[Poll] Do you prefer TE or IC2? Why?

2 UU matter makes 1 still water. Very useful as you can place it in the nether without it evaporating.

[Poll] Do you prefer TE or IC2? Why?

Overall, I prefer EU. It's much more useful in the long run and it can be transferred into MJ if need be. While I do start off using MJ for things such as the pulverizer for doubling ores and the induction smelter for combining ingots (Invar and Electrum are damn useful), I do eventually switch...

How can one delete the exp orbs from a spawner?

I just hook mine up to redstone cells that are next to the machines. So then they always get the full 100MJ/t if you got enough engines (Upgraded electric or blulectric engines are highly recommended as both can produce extreme amounts of MJ if properly set up.)

    Automatic retrieval into Sorting Machine

I kind of dislike timers as if you're on an SMP server, it can cause some serious lag issues. So I'd say only use that if you're on SSP.

    Automatic retrieval into Sorting Machine

Eh, I'm too into buildcraft so I'd just pump them out the back and have them all hook up to a single iron pipe, going into a diamond pipe. From there you can send certain things in certain directions. Heck, even use multiple diamond pipes if you need more options as the crafting recipe for pipes...

    Vajra

He's saying it theoretically. By the time you have enough spare iridium for quantum, a vajra and a gravisuit, chances are you have a UU matter farm/factory and with said UU matter can just get pretty much any material you need without leaving the base. Spawning mobs? tier 5 soul cages are VERY...

    Vajra

Not exactly specific there. Though the server I'm on runs on Mindcrack 8.0.1. So I just use a Matter Fabricator to make mine (7x UU matter from 34 scrap and ~16.7mil EU a piece.)
