    Methane from Charcoal?

Well, I'm not very experienced with the soul shards mod, so I wouldn't know about that. that said, how do you get started on it cause I did know about the spawners part, just not that they were controllable to that extent. As for the energy cost, sure, if you're using the ultimate hybrid...

    Silverwood sapling farm?

Since I don't wanna make a whole new thread, I'll just ask this here. Is it normal to get about 1 sapling per 10 trees? I was testing this with the sickle to see if they could even get saplings, and they can, but after testing on a massive amount of trees I've planted I only managed to get...

    Methane from Charcoal?

But as mentioned above, using carbon cells to create methane cells requires hydrogen cells. To produce enough hydrogen cells via the industrial electrolyzer for one methane cell takes 93k eu, which is extremely high considering that by centrifuging rubber wood you can get 4 methane cells for...

    Methane from Charcoal?

True, there is that method. The only problem though is the massive amount of machines require to keep one going though. But then, with that system you could probably set up an infinite feedback loop - use scrap to create MJ at 1 eu per 8, use MJ to produce EU and 2 MJ to 3 EU, so for 1 eu you...

    Methane from Charcoal?

The magma crucibles run off of MJ and not EU. They use 20k MJ worth of energy for a bucket of lava, which can be used for only 18k MJ, so it's not self-sustaining. All the methods that convert EU to MJ come at a heavy loss, which makes, say, using an electric engine to run the crucible wouldn't...

    Methane from Charcoal?

Truclent, who came up with the initial design, mentioned in the power room thread that the burn value was around 16000, or half of biofuel. This means at full temp a single cell lasts over 50-ish seconds. Basically, at full heat a single centrifuge running the rubberwood should be more than...

    Methane from Charcoal?

I had figured the rubber trees would be better than melons when I saw you get 4x the methane + carbon cells for the same 250 seconds. Also, while the electrolyzer takes a good deal of power to run it still comes out ahead of the centrifuge. Iirc, and I'll check again after I can get on, carbon...

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

Sadly it can't, and I've also done a bit of work concerning the carbon > methane method on the other thread. It does seem that, indeed, the electrolyzers are vastly superior at making methane cells than the centrifuges in both eu cost and time.

    Methane from Charcoal?

With a solid Steve's Carts tree farm then it should be fairly easy to make a massive amount of methane. Just looked at the eu costs and time for turning charcoal dusts into eu and wow...1 second at 1k eu per carbon cell, so the bottleneck then becomes the hydrogen cells that you can make 4 of...

    Methane from Charcoal?

The problem would be the loss of the cell though, since I'd want to be able to use it as part of a self-sufficient power system. In the power room thread a method of making methane out of pumpkins and melons was put into action, but if we could come up with something that grows even faster than...

    Methane from Charcoal?

Earlier in slowpoke's stream I recall someone mentioning you could get methane from charcoal. Now, I might've misheard this as you can get carbon cells from charcoal after pulverizing it and other things, but if you can indeed get methane from charcoal, how? I know someone mentioned not all of...

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

Well that's the problem, a 36HP boiler system really needs all the machines running at full power for multiple boilers (2 boilers per 1 fermenter/4 stills) and this is where the discrapencies lie. Now if I could only find out how he's getting the pumpkins to enter the centrifuges since they...

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

Well yes, but even with 2 15x15 sugarcane farms and a 15x15 cactus farm (I know, about 50% smaller than a 21x21, but still) I wasn't able to keep a fermenter running full steam - it couldn't even support two stills, and at full power it can fuel 4 stills to excess. This makes them rather space...

What does YOUR Power Room look like?

How much power were you sending to your fermenters? You can give them so much power that they consume cacti and sugar cane in two of the bar's ticks so unless you have a constant stream of cacti going I'm not seeing how you could get a surplus of it. Edit: I hooked up a filter to an ejector so...

    ~Ultimate Pack~

From what I can tell though, outside of some new dungeons that particular mod doesn't seem to add any world gen (like new ores and whatnot) and that the dungeons seem to hold recipes for spells which apparently you can learn on your own. More or less, I'm talking about mods that are fairly must...

    ~Ultimate Pack~

Can I ask one question, will there be any mods in the Ultimate pack that aren't in the Mindcrack pack? I understand there will be some config difference and whatnot, but if there aren't gonna be any new mods I might just go ahead and start a mindrack game.

    Gregtech IC² Power

You can use the liquid transposer on methane cells. This was actually brought up in another thread where a person made a pumpkin farm to turn into methane for a boiler. You can also use a melon farm, which is better than the pumpkin farm. From his calculations methane has a value of 16000 in...

Or maybe move the machine closer to the MFE. Barring that, make another MFE that the first one feeds into that then feeds into the blast furnace.
