what he means is he wants someone who also wants to set a server up but cant afford it , so he would pay for the server and then you would set it up, i would love to help but ive never ran a server before :/ what sort of server would you be meaning? as i could try and help get it done

ok i have fixed it after googling the main error i was getting, this :http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1789845-address-family-not-supported-by-protocol-family-connect/ is the problem i had and by removing that file it now works. Now i just need to see if i can connect to servers

I was just uninstalling javs snf the ftb launcher etc... and i just rememberd that i installed technic the other day, could that have done it?

I have re instslled java and the ftb launcher and now it wont even launch any of the mods or anything (vanilla minecraft still works)
