    FTBUnleashed. First Impressions.

Hmm, I'm gonna have to run that in creative and see if it happens to me, I'll post results later. Edit: Yup, it's not draining energy either on paper or many (and yes, I made sure to make it survival before testing :X). So def a bug.

    UE Question

I actually did my initial loop design based on your videos myself as well, but instead of thermal generators I used a hobbyists' steam engine for my first power gen. All I had to do wo loop power for one hydrogen gen was make sure I had the bigger energy cube in my system feeding into the loop...

so the new 152 packs... I took RP2 for granted.

The other option is to make a slime headed pickaxe, mine your first obsidian incredibly slowly, and then make an obsidian headed pickaxe and mine obsidian with it. Of course the other, somewhat more logical approach is to set up a pump, aqueous accumulator, and igneous extruder to turn lava into...

    TConstruct Problem Please HELP !

Some things to add. The tool forge doesn't require iron blocks. It can be 4 blocks of ANY metal as long as all four blocks are the same metal, but iron is the only one shown for the recipe. To make the initial stencils just make them in the stencil table. From there make the parts in the part...

    UE Question

Yup, a large reactor turbine (3x3 small turbines, hit middle with a wrench) produces more power than 18 industrial steam engines, yet a single 36HP boiler can power 9 of em, so yea. Also, there has been mention that you can funnel off the steam from nuclear reactors using the funnels and pipes...

    New Mod Packs ***Released***

That doesn't refute the point that IC2 is the only mod in the pack that uses exclusively EU. Other mods CAN use EU, but as you have stated those same mods can easily use MJ and there are more mods that only use MJ (TE, BC, RC, Forestry). Of course, UE also works for those, but UE isn't in the...

The future of FTB Modpacks pt 2

I think Jaded was simply making a hyperbole and was mostly referencing people's mental age rather than physical age.

Netherrack only has the mining level of iron. It only has stonebound 1 and a mining speed of 4 though, same as cobble. Also, mDiyo seems to have removed stonebound 2 from flint and put it on ardite (ardite had stonebound 3). But yes, Netherrack can be used in place of iron for tools, but it will...

    FTBUnleashed. First Impressions.

Stonebound was supposedly nerfed a good while back before t2 tools were implemented, but it seems to work differently on them than on t1 tools. It was supposed to work on a parabolic curve so it reaches its max effectiveness after 400 dur has been lost. From what I've noticed at least though...

    New Mod Packs ***Released***

With the removal of GT there really is no need for power converters. Only IC2 uses its own exclusive power, everything else uses MJ, and Factorization can use Steam from Railcraft boilers. Also, Nuclear Controls are in, the list originally didn't have it because of an oversight.

Unless it was introduced again in the version in Unleashed that bug should've been fixed already. Are you wearing any MPS armor? If you are it will refill the tools. Also, Many tools will take massive amounts of time to actually break if built right, so the repairs wouldn't be too bad. Just...

    New Mod Packs ***Released***

You're pouring the iron into the metal tool molds and not the wooden ones right? That's a common error that people have. That said, I'm still working on finding some darned aluminum to make a mold so I can mine other stuff, so I can't see if I'm having the problem just yet.

Repair costs don't only go up from adding upgrades. If you repair a tool enough you'll eventually start to see it cost double the amount it took to repair it before, and it can go even higher. For my starter hammer, for example, it can be repaired to full with about 4-5 cobble, yet after a while...

    FTBUnleashed. First Impressions.

Not only that, but if you want a half decent tool you have to dump a lot of resources into it for the upgrades. What was it, 50 blocks of lapis to guarantee fortune 3, 50 redstone for speed, a diamond and gold block for one extra modifier, a nether star for another. And unless you add electric...

    New Mod Packs ***Released***

Ah, I was just wondering what was causing them since it didn't happen before. Wasn't sure if it was a bug or not.

Anyone else getting weird, random water puddles after it rains in Unleashed? They seem to break instantly by hand.

Or the energy producers from Atomic Science.

Depends on the person really. For me it's easier to see the lines on the minimap. Sure, the lines are actually 17x17 instead of the 16x16 chunk size, but that just means the lines are the walls and everything within is inside a single chunk. That and I prefer the solid outlines on the minimap...

    Mod Pack Update

Enhanced Portals was removed because it broke nether portals. Even in .8 if you made a nether portal and came back it would make a whole new one randomly and consistently until you removed it from the pack.

    FTBUnleashed. First Impressions.

My main reason for even using map mods is the chunk boundaries a la Rei's minimap. The boundaries help in the sense that since you can tell where one chunk is easily you can focus your builds so all of your machines are within a certain boundary to save on chunk loaders. It also helps in that...
