Giving Credit where Credit is Long Overdue

^A thousand, for a pack like FTB? Combine all the mods, and I think we're looking at a number in the high hundred thousands, possibly exceeding a million. As for the ratio of man hours/woman hours... no comment. EDIT: Yeah, the sentence above was poorly worded. I intended to use it to cover a...

Giving Credit where Credit is Long Overdue

Mod developers leaving isn't necessarily the end of all things good. Depending on the mod it might be the end of an era, but since Minecraft is so popular, it's reasonable to assume other people will try out modding for themselves. That being said, it's sad to see some people leave, and the...

    A little rant

I think this kind of problems will always haunt Minecraft and its mods because of its player base. Minecraft is a really kid friendly game. Its mods will give it longevity unparallelled by almost any other game there exists. It can be played alone or with friends, and in almost any way...

Giving Credit where Credit is Long Overdue

{sorry but this will just start the drama here - redacted- JC} Also, I realize now that this is terribly disrespectful, but I don't recognise any of the names of the mod authors leaving. Playing modpacks, without tweaking, and using the wiki for information instead of the relevant dev threads...

F9 is your friend. Press it (twice, to get the menu away) and the chunk borders will be visible. Then make sure all Quarry equipment is within the relevant chunk, and you won't need any chunk loaders. It's a very useful feature. You'll have to press F9 a few more times to get the chunk borders...

Quasi-relevant question: We all know and...umm... know... Greg, but where in the world is he from? A couple of tooltips on his blocks reminded me a lot of my native "Scandinavian English", such as writing "Fusionreactor" in one word, or stating the IDSU can contain "one Milliard" EU. It got me...

    Random Snow Chunk?

I've experienced the same, though the other way around. Me and my friend were playing on a LAN world, happily building a nice, huge castle. At some point, I needed more wood, so I went out to the forest to chop down some trees. Then I saw a huge, towering structure some distance away. When I...

Request Suggest mods for creation here

Anybody here read comics? More specifically, Disney comics? Even more specifically, Don Rosa's famous story "A matter of some gravity"? If not, please take a minute to read... In this story, Donald Duck and his uncle Scrooge are hit by a spell with an interesting effect: For them, gravity goes...

^Why not simply abstain from using these fuel sources? I mean, nobody's stopping you from not burning wood, even if you have the opportunity?

Why are The IC2 Addons Used Anymore?

Speaking of change... I think one should be applied to the topic title. It seems to ask the complete opposite question of the OP.

Why are The IC2 Addons Used Anymore?

Some people complained IC2 was old and needed to change. Quite a lot of others were perfectly content with the way things were, and didn't feel the need to bring up the issue. I mean, if you made a thread saying "I like how things are right now, let's keep that", you'd either be reported for...

    Hungry Nodes, how to recognize?

Just asking, in what version of FTB were Hungry Nodes added? Just wanting to know if I should be wary of them running around in my Ultimate world (yeah, I just discovered FTB and wanted to explore the pre-crazy GT and IC2 days before upgrading to a more modern pack).

    Question about Ore Generation.

Performance aside, the main reason why I miss Optifine in packs where I don't have it installed, is because Optifine includes an extremely nifty zoom function. I hope Vanilla Minecraft will add binoculars or something one day.

Those little things that irk you about Minecraft

New irking. Factorization solar generators, the ones with all the reflectors: Optimal placement of them forms a circle 17 blocks across. One block more than the width a single chunk, so you have to keep four chunks loaded for it to continuously power stuff. Also, that Energy Bridges uses an...

^AE crafting requires a LOT of Iron, and a good chunk of Quartz Crystals (somewhere around 100 to get a ME Molecular Assembler Chamber up and running), as well as generous amounts of Redstone. It also takes some Glowstone, a bit of Gold and a Diamond here or there too. You can start as early as...

^Leaves, I guess. Use Vanilla shears or IC Chainsaws to acquire, or just fly around shearing trees with your tool of choice.

You do need Industrial Diamonds specifically. I tested in Creative Mode. No Diamond Grinder with regular Diamonds, but it worked with Industrial ones. Thanks for the tip with config files, though! However, I'm not very well versed in those files and altering them, so I think I'll just put the...

Still playing FTB Ultimate here. I had finally saved up materials for an Industrial Grinder, and was about to create the machine itself after building all the casings required. The key components of the Grinder are the Diamond Grinders, the cutting heads themselves. And those required...
