Server crashes are caused by the rat mod which will be removed from servers next update. You can remove it from the server with no problem.

I am unable to diagnose crashes without a crash log, but if you are on a server, chances are it is a rat causing the crash.

You will have to do this every update or you will get chunk boundries, so keep that in mind.

In the thaumcraft config reduce the taint biome weight and delete alternate terrain gen, extra biomes and climate control configs and you should be good.
