If you like the hands off method, I suppose you could make a catcus farm. SFM has a set-up or old fashion farm with conveyor belts in place of water works as well too. Still need to craft the cactus to bottle though - unless Steve can do that? No idea and would like to know from some genius...

It was on for me. Off in 1.1 for both. Noticeable difference when you jumped to 1.2 because all the mobs came to die in my pits now.

Dagger is pre-metal. Mattock can be bone. Most of the tools can be made from bone. Sword can be obsidian - so can a lot of other things. Or netherack for someof them. For obsidian - make a STONE barrel, put in lava. Have water flow over it and obsidian. Click to pop it out. For netherrack...

You could lock yourself in a 2 x 2 cage so you don't have to go chasing around the errant seeds - dirt below and above. Especially the floating ones. Bonemeal like crazy. Just be sure to read the label when planting. If it says netherrack, plant it on netherrack. Otherwise, the results :(...

Well, they do have paper hot pots in Japan. Put the stew in the paper pot, put it over a burning fire and cook. Somehow it seems to work too so maybe a wooden fry pan would do just as well.

It seems to work with fresh water being pumped in. The witch water just sitting there didn't make new ones sprout. Nor did re-pumping the witch water in. Only when you put in new water did the mushroom spawning occur. On Agrarian Skies that is.
