They are not disabled but you can get them also via the space junk in the quest book.- SirWill

Sounds like your friend does have a wrong or corrupted version. I recommend to reinstall the pack.- SirWill

We updated minechem and the fluids got changed to the new forge fluid. That's why there are so many missing items/fluids- SirWill

Update 1.3.1 is now available on MyMLauncher and on github. If there are no major issues we will push it to FTB too in few days. (FTB Update process is manual and we don't want to trouble the third party team too much with multiple deploys) Changelog...- SirWill
