It does sound like a cool mod that would make everyone's research room look very cool. As much light as a Wraith Lamp gives it more functionality.

For research, you can add a bunch of things to increase your yields. A lot of them look nice, too, so it gives a bit less of a factory feel and more of a cozy-magic feel. But it looks great!
